Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible underwent a frame-off
restoration in Phoenix, AZ, that was completed in 2019. The
exterior features Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige over a matching red
and beige interior. Power comes from a refurbished 265ci Power Pack
V8 engine with a Rochester 4-barrel carburetor rated at 180hp when
new paired with a Powerglide automatic transmission and new dual
exhaust. The engine is said to have been rebuilt during the
restoration, and additional details a period-style generator, oil
filter canister and air cleaner assembly, and a new brake master
cylinder that was installed in 2020. The car features an
independent front suspension and a solid rear axle reportedly
rebuilt during the restoration, along with the installation of new
front coil springs and rear leaf springs. The power-assisted
4-wheel drum brakes are actuated by a single-pot power master
cylinder installed in 2020. Also, a new top pump motor was
installed during the restoration. The beige soft-top features a
vinyl rear window and a matching boot and can be seen both lowered
and raised. The interior is trimmed in red upholstery with matching
carpets and beige accents on the door panels and bench seats. The
red-painted steel dashboard features an aluminum insert
incorporating a Bowtie motif and houses an Audiovox cassette player
and a factory clock. Additional interior amenities include front
and rear lap belts as well as Chevrolet-branded floor mats, a
three-spoke steering wheel with chrome horn ring frames, a 110-mph
sweep speedometer with integrated gauges for coolant temperature
and fuel level. There are just over 300 miles shown on the
five-digit odometer, reportedly since completion of the work. Total
mileage is unknown. This car rides on red-painted steel wheels with
chrome covers and BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall radial
tires.
