Custom-built all-steel Resto-Mod designed for comfort, safety and
performance. The firewall has been double-plated with aluminum and
the floorboards with stainless steel, with insulation in-between.
All the interior has aircraft-type fire-resistant insulation,
making it much cooler as well as quieter. Vintage Air Gen II was
also installed for cold air and warm heat. Power steering, windows,
seat and locks, with remote for windows and locks. Flaming River
polished stainless-steel tilt steering column, with Billet
Specialties leather-wrapped banjo steering wheel. Sitting in the
custom steel center console is the Pioneer CD stereo, Bluetooth,
six speakers and amp sound system, with 12-volt power plug and
lighter. Storage is available in glove box as well as the center
console. Gauge package is the VHX design by Dakota Digital that a
self-contained unit that includes all gauges, turn signals and
high/low beam. It fits beautifully in the original Ford oval gauge
opening. Also features cruise control. Comfortable ride and
handling come from steel-belted radials and Heidts tubular A-arms
with double adjustable coilover shocks up front. In the rear is
Classic Engineering 4-link suspension with double adjustable
coilover shocks from Strange Engineering. Serious stopping power
comes from Wilwood Dyna-Lite Pro series disc brakes pushed by
Hydratech Braking Systems. Parking and emergency brake power comes
from E-Stopp and doubles as an anti-theft device, as it locks down
by switch. Two kill switches are also hidden for safety, as well as
to help battery draw down during storage. Three-point seatbelts
hold you firmly in place. The stainless-steel 20-plus-gallon fuel
tank means you can travel a good distance between gas stations.
Performance comes from a professionally built 347ci Ford
small-block, cooled by an aluminum Griffin radiator, with a March
billet aluminum pulley system, Edelbrock aluminum intake and heads,
and breathing through Patriot ceramic-coated headers. Electronic
Fuel Injection with MSD electronic box and coil. Ford 9-inch rear
end, TREMEC TKO 5-speed with an overdrive gear of .64. The
31.5-inch Goodyear Eagles tires mean quite low rpm cruising.
Exterior paint is DuPont Pure Black. The original grille was
removed and chromed-plated. Headwinds front lights are cut from a
solid piece of billet aluminum and chrome-plated; taillights are
Prowler, wheels are Billet Specialties.
