This custom hardtop Resto-Mod is the result of a three-year
project. It is a professional complete frame-off rotisserie build
presented by DT Classics. It started with rust-free metal fitted
meticulously to form a perfect look and then painted with a custom
PPG Burgundy metal flake paint with a touch of gold trim. Next the
body was mated to an Art Morrison GT Sport frame along with a
complete Art Morrison suspension, starting with a Street
Performance High-Tec power steering reservoir that feeds the Art
Morrison rack & pinion power steering. The Pro-Touring suspension
is stabilized with Strange Engineering adjustable coilover shocks.
It is finished off with a mini-tub to fit the 4-link rear
suspension holding the narrowed Ford 9-inch rear end with a pair of
Daystar traction bars. Finally, the frame was finished off with
front and rear sway bars along with a 4-wheel Wilwood
hydroboost-assisted 6-piston front disc brakes with 4-piston rear
set up with drilled and slotted rotors. This build is powered by a
ZZ572/620hp Deluxe GM Performance crate engine with the GM
Performance intake manifold topped off with a Demon carburetor and
fed from an aluminum gas tank. The engine is not only built to go
but built for show with all polished accessories, including a Chevy
serpentine belt system, and comes with tight tubes, Headman headers
and a 3-inch Aero stainless exhaust. The 572ci engine stays cooled
by a C&R Racing aluminum radiator with dual electric SPAL fans
and everything is connected with a Ron Francis wiring system. This
powerhouse is hooked to a 6-speed TREMEC T56 manual transmission
with a hydraulic clutch and a custom-built Grant shifter. The build
is finished off with the perfect stance on a set of staggered Intro
wheels (front 18-inch with 225/40 ZR 18 and 19-inch rear) with
345/30 ZR 19 rear Michelin tires. A keyless entry opens up an
incredible all-leather interior with ostrich inserts built on a set
of Wise Guys custom buckets with lumbar support, 6-way adjustable
power and heated seats. The Ididit tilt steering column and one-off
Nardi Torino custom steering wheel finished in gold and rosewood
flow nicely into a custom-built dash holding the VDO Instrument
gauges. Next is the custom center console and power windows, and to
finish off this interior design is a vintage-style Custom Autosound
digital radio and sound system powered by a hidden amplifier
located with the battery in the trimmed and finished matching
trunk. Keeping it all cool is Southern Classic air conditioning
with a Street & Performance compressor and custom vents cut into
the dash.
