Vehicle Description
1953 Chevy 5-window short-bed pickup with a just-completed
restoration. It's powered by an 8-cylinder engine with custom
headers, aluminum radiator and electric fan, Billet Specialties
valve covers and air cleaner paired with a billet serpentine belt
drive backed by an automatic transmission. It rides on a custom
chassis with independent front suspension with RideTech air bags
and shocks. The suspension in the rear is a triangulated 4-link
10-bolt Chevy with RideTech airbags and shocks. The truck is
stopped by power-assisted multi-piston 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes
and cross-drilled rotors. The truck rides on 20-inch rear and
18-inch front Ridler wheels wrapped in new radial tires. The
interior is finished in custom brown and cream upholstery, the seat
has stainless cup holders. Behind the folding seat is a modern
stereo system with two 6x9-inch speakers powered by an MB Quart
amplifier. The interior is finished off with a custom billet
wrapped steering wheel, Lokar shifter and under-dash heater. The
body of the truck has been modified for a more modern look yet
keeping the vintage lines and appearance. Some of the modifications
include a one-piece hood, custom bed with rounded corners, hidden
tailgate latch, rear bumper delete, smoothed firewall and modern
electric door latches by Altman. The truck has power windows
engaged by a manual-looking window crank and a sleek-looking
one-piece windshield, and the body has door and hood gaps all
finished off with a cream base coat and clear.
