Vehicle Description
This 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III is GM-documented by George
Zapora and is often referred to as the "Psychedelic Judge." A
one-of-one, this is the Judge that was not meant to be produced.
The GTO is finished in Mint Turquoise exterior over a red bucket
seat interior with factory Judge decals in blue, orange and pink.
The color combo on a factory WT1 Judge option was not permitted yet
was somehow built by GM of Canada. The Psychedelic Judge is one of
75 GTOs Judges finished in Mint Turquoise in 1970, and Mint
Turquoise GTOs were only to receive black or Sandalwood interiors,
which makes this a one-of-one error. Multiple magazine articles
have been written to document the car and ACME even produced a
limited run of 588 diecast model copies of this GTO. The GTO is
powered by a documented Ram Air Judge 400ci Ram Air III engine
factory-rated at 366hp and 445 ft/lbs of torque and mated to TH400
3-speed automatic transmission with 3.55:1 posi-traction
differential. The original data tag on the cowl has been decoded,
and the GTO received a comprehensive frame-off restoration to
factory specifications by the GTO gurus at Classic Performance.
Well-optioned from new, the GTO features an upgraded Gear Vendors
overdrive transmission (original parts come with the car), N41
power steering variable ratio, PMD N98 Rally II wheels, G70
Goodyear Polyglas Wide Oval GT tires, T42 hood inlet Ram Air, A1
heavy-duty battery, U25 luggage compartment, U26 under-hood lamp,
U35 electric clock, U63 AM push-button radio (which was upgraded
with period-correct AM/FM unit), U76 windshield antenna, U80
auxiliary rear speaker WTI Judge option, W84 additional fuel for
delivery, Y92 lamps (including glove box, luggage and courtesy) and
Y96 handling package. The GTO has 33,495 actual miles and has 3,100
show miles since restoration. The notoriety of this special car
includes the June 2014 Northwest Regional Tiger Run in Bend, OR,
First Place Best Judge; July 2016 GTO Nationals Seattle, WA, won
First Place Judge; and February 2017 World of Wheels class award.
Additionally, the GTO was featured in a four-page spread in Muscle
Car Review 2017, Motor Trend Magazine in September 2017 and
December 2018 back page highlight in Muscle Car Review.
