This 1968 Dodge Charger "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee was built to
the specifications of the Georgia #3 General Lee hero car. No
expense-spared-restoration with painstaking attention to detail to
correctly replicate the unique nuances of the real #3 General Lee,
with "01" positioned on doors and all correct custom-made font for
the roof, including exact Navy Blue match with all stars pointed
correctly toward the driver's door with exact measurements taken
from General Lee #1. The color code is an exact match, which was a
rendition of Corvette Orange Flame paint code for this car. A
Travis Bell swatch code was done for a beautiful finish. The
correct Georgia rear deck panel cross flags are complemented by the
correct Archer teardrop base antenna from Radio Shack with original
fiberglass whip as used on the first three seasons. Correct
American Racing Vector wheels with actual Carrol Shelby center caps
as used in the first three cars, which were taken off the Enzo
racing Corvettes as per the original General Lee. The correct
3-point roll bar is actually installed backwards as per the actual
General Lee, so John and Tom didn't hit their heads when driving.
The correct Saddle Tan interior is all brand-new by Legendary and
complemented by the factory console, and there is a correct Cobra
77x CB radio. The left bottom of the passenger windshield has the
correct Los Angeles College decal, replicated from the exact decal
from General Lee #1 as seen on PGA star Bubba Watson's car. There
is a narrow front push bar with 2.5-inch tubing, as per the
original car, with a General Lee license plate. The doors are not
welded on hero cars; none of the hero cars had welded doors for
safety reasons. Powered by a rebuilt 440ci big-block V8 engine with
4-barrel carburetor backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission with
HEMI-style brake booster upgraded disc brakes, Edelbrock intake,
with correct chrome "dished-in" air cleaner, which was discontinued
in 1980. The car has the correct chrome hood springs and, of
course, the "Dixie Horns" as placed in the one hero car episode.
The General Lee comes with a binder of restoration receipts and
original Build Sheet. The trunk is signed by the "Dukes of Hazzard"
cast of characters, including John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Catherine
Bach, Percy Ford and Eddie Fiola, who jumped the General 75 feet in
the movie version.
