For Sale at Auction: 1958 GMC Suburban in Scottsdale, Arizona
This 1958 GMC Suburban Carrier pickup belonged to Ellis Motors in
Kent, WA, until 1964, when Pat Ellis of Ellis Motors transferred it
out of his dealership and into his personal name on March 24, 1964.
It was purchased by the consignor in 1982. Very few were produced
for 1958 before being discontinued when the steel box fleet sides
were introduced, and few are in existence today. This is an early
GMC truck production starting at #1000, and this is #1210. Original
"optional" Pontiac 336 V8 engine serial #0015757 factory colors
retained. Painted in a Flame Red body with a Dover White top, it
has had body-off restoration form an award-winning paint and
restoration facility. Factory options include 336ci Pontiac V8
engine, tachometer, foot pump, windshield washer, deluxe heater,
radio, day-night mirror, front bumper guards, dual inside visors,
driver and passenger outside mirrors, and a windshield visor. All
original parts taken off were retained and will be included in the
sale. Upgrades were front and rear mono leaf springs, dropped front
axle, front disc brakes and Tri-Power setup. First time offered in
