Vehicle Description
This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable is from the first
year ever to see the large-scale production of a hard-top
convertible. This two-door retractable hardtop example is from one
of 20,766 produced for the model year after its premiere at the
1956 New York Auto Show. Power is produced by a 312ci Thunderbird
V8 engine fed by a 4-barrel carburetor and shifting is accomplished
automatically by way of a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission.
Standard and optional equipment includes power steering, power
brakes, a heater defroster, push-button AM radio, Select Aire
climate control, and dual exhaust. Included is documentation of
prior long-term ownership for nearly 34 years, including the 1988
registration and handwritten correspondence of buyer and seller
negotiation.
