Vehicle Description
One of the very last air-cooled uncomplicated maintenance-free
Porsche race cars. Commandeered in 2006 on an ultra-light composite
body by well-known Las Vegas PCA member and successful businessman
in the legal arena, it became a winning full-fledged PCA race car.
Former SCCA Champion and Rookie of the Year Al Camano purchased it
in 2018 from Throttle-Stop at Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI,
driving it 2,000 miles on slicks to Long Beach, CA, on a
"Cannonball Run" of sorts. After meeting the legendary Don Lee
Leatherwood at the 2018 Rennsport extravaganza, who responsible for
building the iconic winning Brumos Porsches and the new Brumos
Collection Museum, the current owner obtained his blessing to
re-create it on a Brumos livery. A spectrometer was used to get the
exact colors of the red, white and blue scheme, and all stripes and
decals were measured to successfully complete the project. All
stripes were painted (no vinyl graphics) for a vintage look.
Leatherhood reacted with a resounding "Spectacular" upon the
project's completion. Described as the only true Brumos Porsche
Tribute car showing the names of dozens of their illustrious
drivers on the roof, it won the Best Race Car award out of the box
at the 2019 Steve McQueen gala/car show. It is powered by a Porsche
993 3.6-liter 3600cc engine with racing dry-sump. It features the
Porsche G50 transmission with cooling system, ultralight 1998
Porsche 993 RSR composite AMR #6414211, double-winged with
fiberglass bumpers and doors, chassis 83 911 SC, AP racing brakes,
wheels, independent Bilstein coilovers with smart racing
components, full roll cage that is SCCA/FIA-approved, a complete
fire suppression system, ATL fuel cell and SCCA/FIA-required
exterior engine kill-switch. A Cobra Sebring Pro FIA approved seat
and Sparco Evo Plus-2 seat are included. Updated Simpson racing
belts. A new I/O Port driver's seat back brace secures the seat to
the roll cage for ultimate safety. Ultralight Lexan polycarbonate
windows. Dashboard AIM-Solo computer (records every lap, etc.)
tachometer, engine pressure, temperature, alternator/fan belt
gages. BMC air filter. Custom carbon-fiber dashboard. MOMO steering

America's all-time winningest endurance driver Hurley Haywood, who
won the 24 Hours of Daytona a record five times and Le Mans three
times. Peter Gregg's replica helmet. Last documented service was
just completed on November 16, 2021, by Lomita 911's master
technician Wolfgang Schelicher, thus being race-ready. **NOT STREET
