This 1956 big-window pickup has gone through a multiyear frame-off
build. The frame has been blasted, primed, boxed, and painted base
and clear coats. The '56 has a new independent front suspension
with 2-inch drop spindles, as well as power rack & pinion steering.
The rear suspension is a triangulated 4-link with polished aluminum
coilovers. There is new Speedway rear-end housing narrowed to allow
for massive rear tires. The new rear-end housing was fitted with a
new Currie 31-spline nodular steel center section with 3.70 gears.
A set of 31-spline Currie axles were installed to handle the torque
of the 460ci Ford V8 that has been bored .40 over with a
CCA-K34-600-5 Thumper camshaft, Edelbrock Performer intake and 850
CFM Edelbrock carburetor. A set of long-tube Hooker headers were
ceramic-coated and flow into a 3-inch exhaust out the back of the
truck with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The engine is dressed in
tall Ford Racing valve covers and a polished serpentine belt system
pulling the chromed alternator and air-conditioning compressor. The
transmission is a remanufactured Ford C6 with a shift kit and stall
converter. Power 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with slotted and
drilled rotors bring the '56 to a halt. Additional features include
a reverse tilt hood, shaved door handles, electric door openers,
electric windows, chrome steering column, wood steering wheel,
dual-color all-leather interior with heated and air-conditioned
seats, and cabin heat and air conditioning, Dakota Digital dash,
center console, AM/FM, navigation, Bluetooth and USB. The paint is
PPG Candy Tangerine Orange Glow.
