Vehicle Description
The restoration of this 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible began
with its original sheet metal being stripped bare, and the car
mounted to a large rotisserie and thoroughly worked over the course
of three years. Once the sheet metal was aligned, Chestnut Metallic
lacquer was fashioned around tinted glass, along with a
power-operated roof and original trim that has been stripped,
polished and anodized. This convertible is powered by a 406ci/405hp
Ford big-bore V8 engine pairing a correct C3AE-6015-V casting
number with correct Tri-Power induction. It sends power through a
correct BorgWarner T10 4-speed manual transmission and 9-inch Ford
axle built with correct 3.50 gears. The interior is all original.
Included in this sale is a photo album of the restoration.
