Vehicle Description
This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 stepside is powered by a modified
6.2-liter (376ci) LS3 V8 engine mated to a 4-speed 4L65E automatic
transmission and Moser 12-bolt posi-traction rear end. The LS3 is
fitted with a March polished aluminum serpentine belt system and
K&N intake with throttle spacer installed, as well as BBK
shorty headers and new exhaust system with dual Flowmaster
mufflers. A Vintage Air climate control system was installed with
braided heater hoses and stainless large coolant hoses included.
Both the brake and transmission lines are all stainless and the
transmission features a Lokar dipstick. Additionally, the custom
pickup has a pre-aluminum radiator with chrome overflow tank and
dual electric 16-inch fans. The truck rides on a RideTech air-ride
suspension system and features lower control arms with a 4-link
rear suspension setup, as well as Unisteer power rack & pinion
steering. An American Autowire wiring harness was installed for
reliability. Wilwood disc brakes were installed all around,
including a master cylinder installed on a vacuum booster and a
Lokar electric emergency brake. The cab is chopped 3 inches with
drip rail deleted and the sun visor is molded into the roof. The
door handles were shaved and now use fobs to open. Door edges have
had sharp corners rounded and the exterior has dual swan-neck
mirrors. The battery has been relocated using a battery box. The
hood has been subtly pancaked and now opens from back to front. The
side vent windows have been deleted and the truck features power
windows. Also installed was a Rain Gear hidden wiper system along
with H4 bulb-equipped headlights, LED lower inserts for turn
signals as well as LED brake and signal lights molded into the rear
valance. The fenders were tubbed to accommodate the wider wheels
and tires, along with all edges smoothed, molded-shut tailgate,
frenched-in license plate, fiberglass tonneau cover and a Hagen gas
filler door. The interior received many upgrades, including a new
polished stainless instrument cluster, Ididit chrome tilt steering
column a leather-wrapped banjo steering wheel, leather interior and
new carpeting installed. Also during the build, billet door handles
were added, along with Lokar gas and brake pedals, and a Kenwood
sound system. The RideTech air-ride system is controlled from a
console, as are the power windows and power locks. Wheels are
American racing polished Torq Thrust wheels wrapped with 18-inch
radials up front and 18x12-inch radials on the rear. **SOLD ON
