Vehicle Description
Less than 600 H2 Hummer SUT's (Sport Utility Truck) were produced
in 2008, making it among the most exclusive versions of this iconic
and capable vehicle. This low-mileage example boasts the
optional-cost paint color Solar Flare Metallic. Production ended in
2009. The last two years saw significant improvements, including a
6.2-liter engine with an additional 100hp over the prior engine and
a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission replaced the 4-speed.
The improvements are nothing short of transformational. Bluetooth
now available, a backup camera and remote start. All are present in
this model. This unique H2 was the personal vehicle of a GMC
dealership owner, and it retains its factory DVD system, headphones
and remote. This H2 received great care and service with custom
features throughout. The lift kit is modest and new wheels were
added along with the chrome accent pieces, all GM-sourced parts.
Next the vehicle went to the body shop and, under personal
direction, the exterior black rubber features were painted in the
same factory Solar Flare Metallic paint. This was a labor of love
and took considerable craftsmanship. The 2008 model year holds a
special place as the most refined and improved version. Significant
factory improvements were made to the engine and transmission,
interior and electronics in 2008. While largely unchanged on the
exterior, the H2 and H2 SUT interiors were redesigned. This
included new instrument cluster with improved gauges and Driver
Information Center (DIC), a new leather-wrapped steering wheel,
three new radios with a Bose premium audio system and auxiliary
audio inputs, including a new touchscreen GPS navigation radio with
DVD audio and video playback while in park, XM Satellite navigation
and traffic capabilities, a new rear-seat DVD entertainment system,
Bluetooth hands-free calling capabilities, enhanced voice
activation, new OnStar hardware with buttons moved from the
rearview mirror to the overhead console, a lower dashboard-mounted
radio, new dual-zone climate controls, new rear-seat audio system
controls, a new dash-mounted control knob for the 4x4 system to
replace the old push-button controls, brushed aluminum interior
trim panels, new interior color options, available remote engine
start and a center dashboard-mounted analog clock. Also for 2008, a
new 393hp, 6.2-liter V8 engine replaced the old 325hp, 6.0-liter V8
and a new 6L80-E 6-speed automatic transmission replaced the old
4L65-E 6-speed automatic.
