Vehicle Description
This 1954 International cab-over custom restoration was completed 2
years ago with hundreds of hours and well into the six figures
invested. Some features include a custom deck made of 2x4-inch
steel supports capped with diamond checker plate, built-in tie-down
points for convenience and HD rack in front of the deck to protect
the cab. The deck has been finished with industrial-strength
single-stage red and black paint to match the cab. The restorer
wanted a retro-looking 54-foot cab-over with the modern drivability
of a newer vehicle, so he started with a 1998 bus chassis, backed
by a 5.9-liter 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel engine paired to a
5-speed manual Eaton transmission. All the chrome was freshly
dipped, including the custom-made front bumper, mirrors, custom
grille and exhaust stacks. Michelin tires and semi-truck-styled
wheels were recently installed as well. The interior is finished in
bright red to match the exterior and boasts custom diamond stitch
as well as a red semi-truck steering wheel. The exterior of the cab
is finished with a Fire Engine Red two-stage paint.
