Vehicle Description
This AMC AMX SS dual-quad re-creation features original options and
original SS items, and started life as a 390ci V8, 4-barrel, T10
4-speed car with dash plaque #08478. The dual-quad was added years
ago and has an early original AM4486228 Edelbrock number on it
along with an old racer's name, John Ward. The previous owner had
this car for the past 29 years, and the car has been in Iowa,
Nebraska and Colorado. It was repainted in its original Big Bad
Orange with black racing stripe, and all jams and details, firewall
gutters and lips show well. The original 390ci V8 engine was
rebuilt with a Big Bad cam to match that of the true SS 390's
performance and is paired with a BorgWarner T10 4-speed manual
transmission. The linkage was upgraded with the Holley dual-quads
to run smoothly and without catches, as was an issue with the
original linkage, which is in a box of parts, along with the
original 4-barrel manifold, original foot pedals and rear-end cover
plate. Fully detailed, this AMX is in good condition with straight
accent stripes, well-done bumpers and the Go-Pack Car Group 19
featuring spoilers. The complete underside has been washed, cleaned
and detailed with a light coat of black watertight body chutes on
the solid metal floors, braces and supports. One of 283 produced in
Big Bag Orange, this AMC has always been stored inside and has been
adult-owned.
