Vehicle Description
This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 custom hardtop has been completely
restored and is powered by a Thunderbird 390/300hp engine and a
Cruise-O-Matic transmission. Additionally, it has stock manifolds,
valve covers and air cleaner. The front end is rebuilt and has drop
spindles while the rear, along with lowering blocks and new shocks,
with the brakes redone to four-wheel disc brakes. The body was
stripped to bare metal before painting. All the trim is either new
or has been restored; up front the bumper has been rechromed, the
grille is original and the Ford medallion at the front of the hood
is new as well. The exterior has been painted Rangoon Red with the
firewall and bottom of the hood painted red, and the inner fenders
and core supports painted semi-gloss black. The entire bottom was
cleaned, prepped and painted with red oxide primer. The stainless
moldings and trim that wrap all the way around the car have been
professionally straightened and polished with new weather strips
and window fuzzy seals. The wiper arms are even polished. The two
chrome spears on top of each fender are new, as well as the dual
mirrors and door handles. In the back the taillights are new, the
bumper is rechromed, and the tail panel is brand-new with a dual
exhaust system with crossover. It was reupholstered with
reproduction red, white and black seat covers that even have chrome
embedded trim. Door panels were upholstered to match, and there is
new carpet, matching embroidered Galaxy floor mats, new white
headliner and visors, and new red seat belts in front. When the
dash was removed it was all repainted and detailed out. Down below
is a set of chrome Sunpro gauges. There's a retro stereo that fits
right in the unique size factory hole that has Bluetooth, voice
controls and upgraded speakers. It rides on a set of staggered size
polished aluminum Billet Specialties wheels (18-inch in front,
20-inch in back) wrapped in Performance tires.
