This 1964 Pontiac Catalina has all the right investments to remind
you why Pontiac arguably had the best stable of cruisers. So check
out the 8-lug wheels, full-black package, tri-power V8, and all the
other details that make this hardtop a standout.
Black looks good on this full-size coupe. It's an upgrade that was
done later in life, and so it's a modern clearcoat application that
retains a nice gloss that shows off this well-preserved sheet
metal. Pontiacs of this era were out to dominate the road with the
Wide Track style that made these a legend. It includes the
wraparound chrome bumpers that were integrated so nicely into the
design lines; the bright grille that came to a point to showcase
the Pontiac's arrowhead; and the extra-wide rear fenders flared to
draw your attention where the power was meeting the ground. This
Catalina truly owned the boulevard back in the day. It still has
that presence now, right down to the special distinct 8-lug wheels
with classic redline tires.
One of the best reasons for having a pillarless hardtop is so
people can get a terrific view inside when the windows are down. So
it's great to show off this full black packer inside and out. Plus,
we're even told this stylishly preserved package is the original
interior. It looks well-attractive, right down to the Pontiac logos
in the seatbacks. The tall and wide dash give this a feeling of
expansive luxury in this full-sized coupe, and so those who love
true vintage style will love going for a ride. You really see a
well-preserved vintage style everywhere from the AM radio that's on
display to the full-size spare in the trunk. And for the driver,
the sports steering wheel and all the upgraded gauges (including a
vacuum readout, column-mounted tach, and under-dash duo) tell you
this has something fun under the hood.
Under the hood is a well-presented 400 cubic-inch V8. After all,
the distinctive turquoise block is the correct style, and the three
air grabbers sitting on top is the unmistakable clue to a triple
set of dual-barrel carburetors. And we all know there's just
something extra special about owning a Pontiac with Tri-Power. It
means a coupe with plenty of extra pep when you want to open up all
the carbs, and a dignified V8 tune coming from the dual exhaust.
Plus, power steering, power brakes, and a stout but smooth TH400
three-speed automatic transmission all make you want to take this
one out every weekend.
This is the full black coupe with an outstanding all-around appeal.
So if you love a true classic, you know you don't want to let this
Tri-Power Catalina slip away. Call today!!!
