43,481 actual mile survivor. #s match, original paint and interior.
Same owner the last 21 years.
The legendary LT-1- It has been said it wouldn't be fair to compare
to other small blocks. It is in the league of high performance big
blocks and it weighs less. Only 1,287 LT-1s were built total in
1970. This was also the year with the highest horsepower making it
the most desirable. The LT-1 option had a hefty price tag of $448
compared to a big block that only cost $289.
EXTERIOR: Believed to have a no hit body with original paint. The
factory bonding strips are all in tact. The body gaps are all
excellent, no signs of damage. The original Donnybrooke Green paint
shows well for its age. It has patina all over but still shines. It
has the raised LT-1 hood, removable tops and rear window. The tops
and window store behind the seats. It is a radio delete car with no
antenna. The vacuum headlights and wiper door work amazingly well.
The chrome is believed to be original. It all fits square, still
shines nice. The weather shields are still behind the grill to
protect the headlights. Original glass is very clear. Jambs are
very clean, original weatherstrip is a little brittle. The original
vin # sticker is still on the door.
INTERIOR: Also believed to be all original. The plastic trim,
vents, knobs are mint. The center console is mint, it has correct
reverse lockout shifter. The fiber optic lights appear to be
working. Dash pad and door panels look mint, no cracks. The seats
have splits in the lower cushions. Carpet has some discoloring. The
gauges work, it has correct 6,000 redline tachometer for an LT-1.
Interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The LT-1 power rivaled most big blocks and
weighed much less. It was the most significant improvement made to
a small block. Internally they were built with with heavy duty
performance parts like steel crank, forged pistons and solid
lifters. This one has it's original #s matching 350-370 hp motor.
Correct double hump heads, aluminum intake and finned valve covers.
A big dual feed carb sits on top with correct air cleaner. Headers
were added. The motor compartment looks proper and tidy.
UNDERSIDE: Original, preserved underside maintained as needed. It
has independent suspension front and back. The lower balljoints,
pitman arm and swaybar bushings look like they've been replaced. It
has KYB gas shocks all around. It also has disc brakes at all four
wheels. The e-brake assembly is hooked up. The exhaust has
Flowmaster mufflers and correct square tips. Bottom of the motor is
clean. It has the lower shielding and a factory type starter. The
4-speed is a Muncie M-20, vin # matching to this car. Posi rear
end. The frame appears to be rock solid. The floors are still raw
fiberglass, not painted over. It has complete spare tire
carrier.
They are original only once. Collectors really appreciate
survivors, especially Corvette collectors. This is a rare
opportunity to buy an unrestored, legendary Corvette!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
