Vehicle Description
1969 Mercury Montego MX was ACTUALLY a barn find. It was brought to
Michigan from North Carolina a few years back and purchased by an
elderly gentleman who recently passed on. I was told he drove it
oin special occasions only and put back in the separate barn. I
Recently found at the estate pre-sale, it was lightly gone through
with new joints, idler arm, oil change and Safety inspected and
found mechanically sound. This Vintage Classic has all the design
of the sixties with a rarity of fewer than 18,000 2 Door Hardtops
Produced. It has a clean look inside and out with its Bright Chrome
in just the right proportion. It features the strong V8 power, and
with thoughtful touches, make it an upper-market and rarer Mercury
Class The Mercury line sold fewer than its Fairlane siblings,
especially in the Montego's upper-level MX trim. Not only do you
get the distinction of rarity, but also a more sophisticated style.
The exclusive grille looks European inspired. The hardtop roof is
highlighted by the premium black vinyl, and it goes well with the
dark wood-like trim of the dash and door panels. The mag-style
wheels, blue-dot taillights, and dual exhaust tips add the right
sporty flair/sound to this premium coupe. This MX has after market
AM/FM Functioning radio in the glove box with CD player. You'll
appreciate the little things, like the working lighted dash, horn,
turn signals, temp gauge, dome light and the Mercury crest in the
center of the steering wheel. Plus, the cool pillar-less hardtop
design. The oil gauge appears in op. The headliner shows a minor
rip and loose seam. . The Paint is appears decent for age and the
strong bones of this Merc. make it a worthy candidate to take to
the next level. Overall it is a very sound, smooth driving and
dependable classic car at an affordable price. A premium Mercury
also means premium Ford power, and so this was optioned with a 302
cubic-inch V8, and it now has a four-barrel carburetor on top.
