Best of both worlds- modern reliability, performance and comfort
with 1969 RS Z-28 looks. It was born a Z-28 convertible in 1996. In
2011 it was given a complete make over into this one of a kind.
EXTERIOR: I am very impressed and intrigued by this car. I honestly
don't know how they were able to pull it off as well as they did.
It is all metal and looks like the factorymade it. Starting up
front it has the famous Rally Sport grill with the hidden
headlights. The doors are electric and do actually open and close.
It has a stock 69 bumper, valance and turn signals. It has a metal
cowl hood, 69 style fenders with marker lights. The body line
continues into the doors. The rear quarters are shaped like the 69
and has chrome louvers and marker lights. The tail end is stock
1969 with chrome bumper and bumper gaurds. It even has the RS
reverse lights that mount below the bumper. The trunk lid and
spoiler are 1969. The red paint is polished real smooth and glossy.
The Z-28 white stripes are painted on smooth to the touch, it does
have a scratch in the stripe that was touched up. The chrome is
like shiny. It has a custom flush mount fuel cap that pops up. The
door jambs are painted, weather strips are excellent. It has a hard
boot over the convertible top. The white power top works, it's in
very nice shape and has a glass window. The chrome American Racing
Special Edition wheels look new. They are 17 inch with Nitto
Extreme tires, extra wide in back.
INTERIOR: It even has some style mixed with modern comforts. The
seats are upholstered in houndstooth upholstery. Everything is
stock. It has full set of factory gauges, a center console, tilt
wheel, cruise control and upgraded CD stereo. It has power windows,
mirrors, locks and seat. Everything looks good- the plastic is not
cracked, door panels look nice etc.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is just like it left the
factory. It had it's original VIN number matching 350 LT1 fuel
injected motor. The air induction, a/c, belt system etc are stock
96 Camaro. It has a tubular support brace across the shock
towers.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a power trunk release. It's clean solid
metal. The spare and jack is still there.
UNDERSIDE: It looks like very clean original original condition.
The floors are rock solid still showing the factory paint. Upfront
it has power rack and pinion steering, sway bar bushings look new.
It has Bilstein shocks at all four corners and back it has a QA1
panhard bar. Upgraded MagnaFlow stainless steel muffler and
tailpipes. ABS disc brakes at all four corners. It has it's VIN
number matching automatic overdrive transmission.
What a cool, unique car. I'm impressed with how well it turned out.
It doesn't just have some scoops and stripes like a 69, it actually
has working RS lights! This will be such a conversation starter.
Someone will really enjoy this car.
