For Sale: 1932 Ford Roadster in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Mixing all the best traits of modern street rodding with world class planning and assembly, this brilliant Ford is a standout anywhere it rolls! Of course, to pull off an incredible build like this, everything you do HAS to be flawless. And, from this roadster's striking Brookville body to its proven LS powertrain and one-off, custom interior, there's simply nowhere subpar workmanship can hide. Looking for a quintessential classic that's road ready, show-ready and just plain ready to rock and roll? Roll up the metal curtain and crank up this fantastic Ford!

ALL-STEEL, ALL STYLE

Built to be a top tier example of timeless Ford metal, this razor sharp roadster is constructed on a solid foundation of premium Brookville steel that's been professionally massaged by Boss Performance of New London, Ohio. Precision stamping resulted in a durable and authentic custom that, in addition to requiring minimal paint prep, retains all its original lines, functional parts and structural integrity. Stunning panels display smooth vertical planes and an arrow-straight profile that would give any high-dollar garage queen a serious run for its money. Since a profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears deep Axalta two-stage that's somehow delightfully fresh while being decidedly vintage. And all that style slays UV rays thanks to a professional, three-stage ceramic coating.

The show starts with color-keyed frame horns, which hang a painted spreader beneath a polished So-Cal headlight bar, dual-mode Ford Twolites and a polished grille. A four-piece hood runs custom louvers, stamped by the artists at The Forge, toward a power-operated cowl that's centered on a two-inch chopped windshield. That glass plants a polished frame between traditional hot rod mirrors and a lift-off Rod Tops roof that, along with weather-proof side curtains, can be disassembled and stowed in the car's trunk. Shaved doors lead custom rear corners, fashioned by The Forge, and a traditional fuel tank, tinged with a polished cap. And that tank floats fossils behind a polished spreader and stylish '37 Ford taillights that have been fitted with LEDs and mounted on stainless stands.

LS TOO

Fold the hood and you'll find an even six liters of reliable LS2 small block that, thanks to the pros at Norwalk, Ohio's Harbert Automotive, provides instant access to roughly 500 horsepower! At the top of that smooth-cruising mill, a familiar Spectre filter element feeds a familiar GM intake. That intake feeds ported Precision Race Components heads, which sail custom coil covers over COMP valve springs, LS7 lifters, COMP retainers and COMP trunnion rockers. A Howards ASA-spec roller cam spins between coated Mahle pistons and 6.125-inch H-beam rods. GM fuel injection works well with proven GM coils, which fire pliable Accel wires. Exhaust exits through big stainless tubes that were custom-fabricated by Berea, Ohio's Ultimate Headers. A KWiK Performance serpentine drive spins an aluminum water pump beneath a quality Powermaster alternator and a compact Sanden AC compressor. Speaking of water, cooling is provided by custom Superior Radiator aluminum that's outfitted with a quick-spinning puller fan and a polished expansion tank. And everything stays in check thanks to a professional tune that was completed by Medina, Ohio's Backstreet Performance.

ONE OF A KIND

Pull this impressive Ford on a lift and you'll find a completely custom chassis that was created by the same skilled fabricators who prepped the car's all-steel body. Beginning with custom-boxed American Stamping frame rails, Ohio's Boss Performance added custom crossmembers, a custom transmission support, custom stabilizer bars, and custom torsion tube and shock mounts. All that spice rides a triangulated 4-bar rear-clip that's finished with adjustable Viking coil-overs. That clip pushes stainless hairpins, which tilt adjustable Viking shocks around a 2-inch drop axle and 2-inch drop spindles. A hydraulic clutch, sourced directly from American Powertrain, kicks a tough Tremec T56 6-speed. That gearbox spins a custom Henderson Driveline driveshaft to a 9-inch Ford axle that's built with a Traction Lok differential and 4:10 gears. Turns come courtesy of a manual Unisteer rack. Stops are provided by manual Wilwood calipers, which clamp 20 pistons around drilled, slotted and vented rotors. Custom stainless pipes cage throaty Borla mufflers. And at the corners of the car, custom Vintage Wheels Knock-Offs spin 225/50R16 Diamond Back redlines in front of 285/60R18 Diamond Back redlines.

ENJOY THE RIDE

Between the doors, custom leather upholstery takes clean and stylish form thanks to the pros at New London, Ohio's Hide Originals. Six-way adjustable seats feature four-point Crow Enterprizes harnesses that can double as simple lap belts. Those red-stitched buckets ride fade-free carpet, which frames a custom console, spaced Kugel Komponents pedals and a billet American Powertrain shifter. A custom dash centers clean Dakota Digital VHX telemetry over trick ignition and Vintage Air climate control. Custom side panels add nice texture. And the driver spins a leather-wrapped Quick Release Steering Wheel around a raised column that, along with an enlarged footwell, makes this roadster comfortable for drivers of all sizes.

It's impossible to guess how many hours it took to construct this awesome Ford. But, given the lengthy list of equipment that went in to its build, our asking price probably wouldn't even cover the components, let alone labor. At first glance, the car appears to be a basic and simple piece, but an acute attention to detail and amazing quality earn your appreciation almost instantly. All that said, one thing is certain: thrilling and timeless, there's simply no hiding how brilliant this roadster is when it's centerstage!
