CPR Classic is excited to offer this 1964 Porsche 356C Cabriolet
finished in Stone Gray with a Tan leather interior. This example is
numbers matching to include engine and gearbox but is a
color-change following its restoration. The original color
combination was Light Ivory with a fawn leather interior.
This 356C was acquired from a long-time CPR client for whom we have
sold several stunning 356's in the past. The car was restored a
couple of years ago, and several light alterations were made to
personalize this cabriolet. The restoration included a full
refinish in Stone Gray, a complete new leather interior in tan with
a black canvas top and tonneau cover, and detailed mechanical
overhauls to the suspension and brake systems. The engine received
a major cosmetic restoration, including refinished tins,
brightwork, and carburetor overhauls. The gearbox was inspected and
serviced, and reinstalled in the car.
The car wears GT-style trim on the front and rear bumpers, painted
wheels with polished lips and caps, and a wooden Carrera steering
wheel to round out the light outlaw aesthetic. The engine wears a
twin rear exit sport exhaust that adds a bit of grunt. The car was
driven, shown, and enjoyed on fair weather days following its
restoration. The client has elected to sell the car as he has
several other Porsches nearing completion in restoration.
The fit and finish of this 356C is excellent. The quality of the
paintwork performed is near perfect and essentially flawless. The
gaps are all within factory specifications. The glass and top all
fit outstanding, and the car's brightwork is in excellent condition
with no notable pitting. The dash in the car is slightly wrinkled
and will be recovered prior to the new owner taking delivery. The
interior color can be changed if the new buyer would prefer.
Mechanically, the car is fully sorted and ready to be delivered and
driven immediately. The engine makes terrific power, and the
4-Speed matching transaxle shifts smoothly and is an overall
pleasure to use. The steering is tight and concise with proper
preload and alignment. The four-wheel disc brakes, which is likely
the most significant upgrade on the 356C provide an abundance of
stopping power and tremendously elevate the driver's comfort and
confidence.
This 356C Cabriolet presents an excellent opportunity for someone
looking for an open-top 356 that can be driven, enjoyed, or shown
easily. Stone gray is a gorgeous and sought after exterior color,
and this 356 accentuates it beautifully. Don't miss this stunning
356 Cabriolet.
