For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Nova in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

One of the coolest things about the classic car hobby is the amount of passion and creativity enthusiasts put into builds that can sometimes span decades. And since pretty much everyone here at RK Motors is a gearhead, we know the kind of dedication a high dollar project takes. That said, it seems every time we think we've seen it all, another completely amazing car comes through the doors and just knocks our socks off! This eye-catching Nova is a head-turning pro-tourer that mixes 6.2 liters of legendary LS power with a tough automatic, a full Heidts chassis and one-of-a-kind aesthetics. And if you're ready to feel the breeze behind the wheel of a storied Detroit legend, it's a chance to turn your lust worthy dreams into fantastic reality!

THE FAB '70S

The beneficiary of a ground-up restoration that was completed to a high level of detail, this slick Chevy is the product of cool patience and acute craftsmanship. Those skills shine bright under a glowing coat of Metallic Blue two-stage. And that pigment provides an excellent base for sharp, Yenko-style stripes and expressive "Rally Nova" callouts that were painted and buried deep in clear. At the front of those stripes, familiar Super Sport headlight bezels point modern halo lamps at the sides of a classy billet grille. A chrome bumper, complete with amber parking lamps, reflects a traditional Nova hood that's complete with a flowing "Rally Nova" script. Tinted and stainless-trimmed glass looks great behind polished wipers and second-generation Camaro mirrors. Those mirrors reflect a clean profile that's accented by filled markers and factory handles. And at the back of the car, conservative taillights shade a second chrome bumper and polished exhaust tips.

POWER FOR MILES

Enact this Nova's polished Fesler hood supports and you'll find 6.2 liters of 21st Century small block that's top notch in virtually every way! Created for Chevrolet's legendary Corvette, that awesome LS3 revs stout 10.7 to 1 compression into an eager 430 horsepower! At the top of the mill, a color-keyed Spectre filter slinks breeze into a polished tube, which fronts a proven GM throttle body. Reliable GM fuel rails trace a lightweight GM intake. Air meets spark in rectangular-port L92-style heads, which ride under chromed Chevrolet valve covers. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons compress that volatile union. A hydraulic roller cam utilizes quality roller rockers to maximize intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through polished LS exhaust manifolds. Color-keyed Taylor plug wires are equal parts form and function. There's a massive Performance Rod & Custom radiator that's slid between a spry puller fan and a polished expansion tank. Polished serpentine components spin an aluminum water pump under a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the Cast Aluminum mill rolls in a clean, body-matched frame that's finished with niceties like Lokar sticks, polished brake hardware, a polished closeout panel and a custom shroud.

BETTER THROUGH TIME

Park this classic on a lift and you'll find glossy, body-matched floorpans that provide a fitting backdrop for fresh, first rate hardware. Behind the buff small block, a smooth 4L65E 4-speed twists power to an aluminum driveshaft, which twists torque to a dressed Ford 9-inch that's built with a posi-traction differential and 3.73 gears. That pumpkin pushes a color-keyed Heidts 4-link, which angles polished links around adjustable QA-1 coil-overs. That kit gets led by a Heidts Pro-G front-clip, which cages two more QA-1 coil-overs in polished control arms. The turns come easy thanks to power rack-and-pinion steering. Power-assisted Wilwood calipers squeeze a quartet of vented rotors. A mirrored fuel tank provides ample 'go juice'. Large-diameter exhaust pipes parallel sturdy subframe connectors on their way to throaty turbo mufflers. And chromed Ridler 675s spin 245/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 255/50ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

BETTER THROUGH TIME TOO

Pop this coupe's remote locks and you'll find a custom leather interior that incorporates thoughtful upgrades into a sea of modern flash. Front and center, retrofitted buckets provide a great foundation for cruising. A factory-style dash floats fresh Dakota Digital telemetry next to Vintage Air conditioning and crisp Pioneer audio. A tasteful console frames billet power window switches behind a serious B&M shifter. Clean carpet traces color-keyed floor mats on its way to custom side panels. An attractive Billet Specialties Fury wheel laps a polished tilt column that's finished with Cruise Control. And polished Fesler hinges provide access to a custom-upholstered trunk.

This striking Chevy is one of the coolest cruisers on the planet! As it sits, the car offers the best of both worlds: a timeless, fully restored classic, and a sweet pro-tourer that's virtually guaranteed to hold its own anywhere you care to wheel.
