John Kiewicz, described the commemorative's backstory: The Corvette
has enjoyed a legendary presence and colorful history since its
debut in 1953. The current, fifth-generation Corvette, now seven
years in production, remains the most complete and potent Corvette
package offered--though its reign will come to an end as a new,
more aggressive sixth-generation car appears in '05. The C5 exits
in grand fashion, however, in the form of an optional Commemorative
Edition that celebrates Corvette's back-to-back class victories at
the 24 Hours of Le Mans. ...a special Le Mans Blue paint, the same
hue used on the two C5-R contenders that returned to Le Mans this
year and narrowly missed a three-peat class win at the famed
endurance race. The Commemorative package includes a special
Shale-colored interior; the seats incorporate Corvette cross-flags
embroidered into the headrests. Also part of the mix are exterior
badges acknowledging Corvette's Le Mans success. Offered here is a
50th Anniversary 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition
(one of just 2,025 assembled) in the exclusive Le Mans Blue over
slate. This is a Carfax-certified one-owner car currently showing
19,230 total miles, fewer than 1,150 miles per-year since it was
delivered new at Heartland Chevrolet of Liberty, Missouri. The
meticulous care the owner has bestowed on this special Z06 through
the years is evident in its pristine, collector-grade condition.
The sale also includes the car's original factory window sticker
listing the car's standard and optional equipment (photos of the
sticker are included in the gallery for reference.) The stunning
metallic-blue exterior paint and Le Mans-inspired, striping (on the
hood, roof, and rear deck) combination shows virtually as new.
Deep-blue reflectivity, superb gloss and factory-smooth application
across the entire car. The matte-black-finished front chin spoiler,
window trim, rear-fender brake-cooling vents, and rear quad-exhaust
outlet trim are likewise free of flaws. (To best assess the quality

badging, notably including the side and rear Z06 emblems (with Le
Mans 24 Hours commemorative information in front), front and rear
crossed-flags badges, and embossed C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E lettering on the
rear panel is properly in place. Quad chrome exhaust tips-the only
chrome on the body-are perfect. Even the original license-plate
backing bears an embossed bowtie. Original and undamaged, 17-inch,
polished-alloy wheels (with crossed-flags center caps) are mounted
with GoodYear® Eagle F1 265/40 Z-rated performance tires. Inside,
the color theme is slate-black, and the condition of every
surface-leather, plastic, switchgear, fabric, carpet, and more-is
exemplary. High-back leather bucket seats wear embroidered, color
