Vehicle Description
2019 Ford Mustang GT
Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally
oversteers, with loss of traction, while maintaining control and
driving the car through the entirety of a corner. The technique
causes the rear slip angle to exceed the front slip angle to such
an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite
direction to the turn, (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are
pointed right or vice versa, also known as opposite lock or
counter-steering). Drifting is traditionally done by clutch kicking
(where the clutch is rapidly disengaged and re-engaged with the
intention of upsetting the grip of the rear wheels), then
intentionally oversteering and counter-steering. This sense of
drift is not to be confused with the four-wheel drift, a classic
cornering technique established in Grand Prix and sports car
racing.
For consignment, a 2019 Ford Mustang GT that has been built with
oodles of carbon fiber parts, and was used at the Ford display at
the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Built by Bill Tumas and the CJ Pony
parts Team, it has traveled the country where it was driven by
Formula Drift Pro driver Johnathan Narren. The car is 100 percent
streetable and can be driven anywhere. It could easily be converted
back to a drift car if the new owner would want.
Exterior
A simply beautiful exterior color combo in Smokeshow, (wonderfully
warm!), gray paint with custom slightly darker ghost flag stripes
on the sides. The CJ logo and checkered flags in gold are vinyl and
can be removed if not wanted. Anderson Composites type SA dual
sided carbon fiber heat extractor hood with a custom window is on,
as well as Type GR GT350 style carbon fiber fenders. There is a
type OE original style carbon fiber trunk lid, which lowers to a
carbon fiber tail light panel with a SEMA poker chip. Carbon fiber
rockers, carbon fiber rear valance and a Type OE carbon fiber
grille. Also, a wide body fender flare kit is on. Rally innovations
has provided a complete aluminum front, rear and side splitter kit,
and a Drake Muscle cars adjustable wicker bill rear spoiler is on.
Deep gold 20-inch Velgen wheels button up the 4 corners and this is
a real race car folks with a great stance and look for the
exterior. Mustang! Mustang Mustang! as the ads of yore
exclaimed.
Interior
Framing the passenger compartment is a gold Watson Engineering
4-point roll bar, and it is a Ford GT350 rear seat delete kit.
Smooth black leather frames dark gray suede inserts for the comfy
styled buckets. On the center console are the usual suspects
including a Barton Hybrid shifter along with a Sikky MFG Billet
handbrake reaching for the headliner. A carbon fiber dash and dash
top is in and a large center display screen offers up touch screen
controls and all the fixings of a killer stereo. Backlit gauges
scream for your attention in front and the steering wheel will
provide entertainment for even the most discriminating 757 pilot as
it has plenty of buttons to play with. Black carpeting floods the
floors and the entire interior is really like new.
Drivetrain
In front is a Roush/Ford Performance Phase 2 2650 TVS supercharger
kit topping a 5.0 liter Coyote V8. It has EFI and a 6-speed manual
transmission in the form of an T-82D4 Stage 2 by Calmer
transmissions. It has billet forks and a Ram Clutch Concept 10.5
Twin disc and a UPR braided clutch line. Power travels to the rear
wheels with a 3.73 Torsen Differential.
Undercarriage
A few highlights include Roush adjustable coil overs, Roush sway
bars, Ford performance HD hubs with ARP hardware, BMR HD rear
camber arms and vertical links, and Acceletec jacking rails. Brembo
brakes provide the power discs and drift kit parts are
included.
Drive-Ability
We possess no one in our realm that can drive this car to its true
potential, although that did not stop me from going for a spin
around the test track. It is simply awesome in performance and
looks and a true head turner and neck snapper.
Built for a SEMA show Ford display this is a Mustang like no other.
It is one you need to see to believe, and I think I have a new
Muscle car favorite. The classic stuff is eye candy, but this new
technology cannot be beat!
