1971 Jeepster Commando This is a 1971 Jeepster Commando body on the
improved 1972 Jeep Commando frame. This Jeepster has the advantage
of the AMC 304 V8, bored .30 over, shorty headers flowing into dual
Flowmaster exhaust. Of course the engine is just the beginning, it
is providing power to the TH400 Automatic transmission to the Dana
18 transfer case to a Dana 30 Front, and through a custom Woody CV
driveshaft to the Dana 44 Rear axle. I wanted more spark to the V8,
so I added a DUI distributor through Firewires spark plug wires. A
23 Gallon Aerotank with an integrated skidplate supplies the Carter
performance carburetor fuel through the Torker manifold, so we have
plenty of fuel, air and ignition to drive the Dick Cepek (wheels
and Tires) 35's... there's plenty of room since it sits atop a
Spring Over Axle lift, and 2' body lift. Of course the custom roll
cage sits nicely inside the Hard Top, Soft Top, or looks great
topless. The frame was POR 15 painted during the transformation,
and was completely re-wired using a GM harness along with some
Painless Wiring upgrades to take advantage of the Powermaster 140
Amp alternator and accommodate the electric fan. The rear tire
carrier was custom welded and swings away easily. This Jeepster is
FAR from stock, it has been cut, welded, painted, and riveted
mostly by myself to create what Kaiser and AMC should have built in
the first place! Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location is at
