Vehicle Description
This 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner underwent a frame-off restoration
and has a fantastic stock look with great options. Ford's
top-of-the-line Fairlane models debuted in 1955, replacing the
Crestline models that previously sat atop the Ford hierarchy. These
new-look Fords had longer, lower, and wider body lines which gave
the Fairlane a more updated, modern look. With the exception of a
few updates to the exterior trim, front grilles, and driving
lights, the exterior was largely unchanged in 1956. The two biggest
changes to the '56 Fairlane was the switchover to a 12 volt
electrical system and a newly re-designed dash. The advantage of
the 12 volt electrical upgrade meant that the cars started up more
reliably and the electrical systems were more dependable. The
changes to the dash occurred, in part, due to customer feedback
since customers complained in 1955 that the speedometer was hard to
read. This particular '56 Ford Sunliner comes to us from a large
private collection where it spent the past 10 years. Under the hood
is a 292 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a single 4 barrel carburetor
that pushed out 202 horsepower in its day. Anybody can take this
'56 Sunliner for a spin around the block because the Ford V8 is
hooked up to an Automatic Transmission. Dual exhaust gives this 50s
Ford a nice throaty sound. Getting in and out of those tight spaces
at car shows or even your garage is much easier when driving a
classic car like this one that is equipped with Power Steering. The
chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this classic Ford is
in fantastic shape and shows well. Both bumpers are outfitted with
the upgraded accessory front and rear bumper guards along with the
extra accessory guards. The exterior on this '56 Fairlane Sunliner
has been beautifully refinished in a fifties two-tone color
combination of Sunset Coral with Colonial White. The white vinyl
power convertible top is in wonderful shape and it goes up and down
with the push of a button. Riding on wide whitewall tires with wire
basket wheelcovers, this '56 Ford Convertible has a fantastic
fifties look. Further adding to that classic 50s look is the rear
mounted Continental Kit. The interior on this 1956 Ford Sunliner is
stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in
coral and white vinyl, matching the exterior look of the car. The
dash, door panels and steering wheel also appear to have been
refurbished and show quite well. The dash, which is in its stock
configuration, is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature
gauge, fuel gauge, clock, and AM radio. Whether you're looking for
your very first classic or collectible car, or your garage is full
of classic 50s Fords, this 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner would make
an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
