Vehicle Description
One of the Sting Rays everyone searches for is a 1967 Chevrolet
Corvette convertible with a numbers-matching 427 tri-power big
block still under the hood. And of course, you want the
numbers-matching four-on-the-floor to really enjoy it all. So when
you can find one that is fresh off restoration, that's also in a
terrifically coordinating color package, then you know this is the
'Vette of your dreams.
This car has a terrific pedigree. It was the final year for the C2
and the only time you could get it in Goodwood Green. There is an
exceptional gloss and luster on the factory-correct color, which is
your first indication of the extensive restoration that was
completed only about 400 miles ago. As you look over the whole car,
it shows quality investments with mirror-like chrome bumpers, fresh
weather-stripping, and excellent panel fit. And on a car of this
caliber, of course, all the great period-correct performance
options are still featured today. It's everything like the bold
side pipe exhaust, knock-off style wheels, and cool redline tires
that look distinctive against the body. And the element we love the
most is the big stinger hood. Not only is it a timeless sign of
serious power underneath, but also the cool white streak is a great
match for the bright white folding roof - making this Sting Ray
striking with the top up or down.
Open the door, and it feels like 1967 all over again. There's a sea
of green on the carpets, vinyl bucket seats, and dash. It has that
fresh feeling of investment that looks great against the matching
exterior paint and really gives you pride of ownership. This was
originally a vinyl upholstery car, but you have been upgraded to
supple leather. And you even have the ultra-desirable headrests!
Just about the only thing that breaks up this emerald festival is
the wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel that is truly worthy of
a vintage sports car. The rest of the interior is factory-correct,
and it shows off a loaded car with features like power windows, the
Delco AM/FM radio, power steering, and provisions for factory air
conditioning (it's upgraded to modern R134a refrigerant but it will
need servicing to blow cold again.) And as fresh as this one is
over every inch, we bet you'll still take it out to watch the full
set of gauges that love to dance while you row through the gears
and let that big motor growl.
There's something magical about a 427 in a Corvette. So you know
it's truly special having the original numbers-matching L68 motor
still living under the hood and looking fantastic. The big block is
dressed properly with Chevy Orange on the block and valve covers.
This one is correct right down to the details like the decals and
the Frigidaire compressor. Plus, there's a nice bit of flash with
the correct ignition shield and chrome air cleaner with 427 decals.
And best of all, we all know that underneath that triangle topper
lives the ultra-desirable triple set of dual Holley carburetors.
Not only does it look great, but also you'll love hitting the road
in this big block classic because it's all about control. The
numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission allows you to dial
in the performance and roar of the side pipes on a moment's notice;
the fully-independent suspension holds the road better than some
modern muscle machines; and the four-wheel disc brakes provide
superior stopping power.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the rare, high-quality
vintage car that you'll love to drive. So while it has had the
right investments to take home awards at the car show this weekend,
they'll first have to get you off the backroads long enough to park
it on the event lawns. This Corvette is the total package, and so
it's looking for a true collector. Is that you? Call today!!!
