Vehicle Description
With slick red paint, a custom leather A/C interior, four-wheel
disc brakes, and strong small block V8 power, this 1957 Chevrolet
3100 is one hot custom truck. And it turns the desirability up
another few notches every time you use the adjustable air ride
suspension to dial in your ideal stance.
There are going to be a lot of hot metaphors you'll use with this
truck. After all, it's such a fiery custom that they gave it a
paint called Cayenne Pepper. There's less than 1,400 miles on the
full build, and so the finish has a modern glow that really lets
you see the details of the well-presented sheet metal. And these
trucks are really known for their curves. You see industrial art
everywhere from the stepside bed, to how the power bulges of the
hood meld into the bodywork. Plus, they made nice investments in
the brightwork making sure the grille, bumpers, headlight bezels,
mirrors, and door handles all shine. Those 20-inch Vision Legend
Series wheels add to the brightwork, and it's hard to ignore their
intimidation factor - especially when you dial-in the adjustable
air ride suspension for a mean stance. And when you check out the
bed, you'll see the gas cap that signals they moved the tank to a
more desirable location. You'll also notice the matte paint and
diamond plate steel. So while we doubt you'll ever bring home a
load of gravel in this stunning custom, it's also nice to see it
still knows how to make some hardware store runs.
More thoughtfulness of the build is seen when you open the door.
The special exterior red returns on the door tops and dash, and the
upholstery on the seats and doors even coordinate quite closely.
They also have tan inserts for a tasteful classic two-tone. The
dash has a clean classic design with just the right integrated
modern features, like controls for the cold-blowing air
conditioning and AM/FM/iPod stereo. The billet steering wheel with
Chevy bow tie center is on a tilt steering column to give you a
clear view of the full glowing digital gauges - including speedo
and tach.
The engine bay has a tidy and clean look that reminds you this is a
low mileage build. You have smooth and clean color-matched inner
walls that funnel your attention to all the polished components on
this V8. While you'll be in awe of the style, there's substance
behind it, too. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is said to have been upgraded
to a 383 stroker motor, and it has the strong feeling of power to
back up this claim. It also has been upgraded with an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand intake, and shorty headers feeding
the dual exhaust. The strong running package has great supporting
items like billet valve covers, a serpentine belt system, an
electric choke, an Optima red top battery, and an aluminum radiator
w/dual electric fans. And as you check out the undercarriage
photos, you'll also spot upgrades like the tubular A-arm front
suspension, four-link rear w/horizontal brace, and Ridetech air
suspension w/compressor. Plus, Heidts rack and pinion power
steering, a three-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel
power disc brakes make this a great all-around driver.
