For Sale: 1975 Ford Granada in Bothell, Washington

Vehicle Description

UPDATE March 25, 2022
I have a lot of money tied up in the power train of this car, primarily because most of it is fairly new, and it was all done professionally.  However, the time has come that I have to consider selling the car for a fraction of what it is worth.  There are a number of little things that need to be addresses, but nothing close to the cost of the power train.  So, if your willing to dabble with the small stuff, then your going to get a one of a kind hot rod at a great price.

This is a one owner, one of a kind, and is most likely the only show car quality Ford Granada Ghia in America.  Almost nothing on the car is stock, so if you are looking for a stock Ford Granada, you can stop reading.

This was my wife’s first brand new car.  We bought it when we got married in 1975.  It is a first-year model 1975 Ford Granada Ghia.  Ghia meaning top of the line in extras, and was one of the first off, the assembly line when they were first produced.  Being a first-year model makes it a classic and being a two door makes it even more desirable.  The two door body styles on the 75 and 76 models were the best in my opinion.  Check out the original advertising back in 1975.

It originally came from the factory with a 302 V-8 engine which I changed out for a high performance 351-Windsor when the 302 wore out.  My 351 engine could run on either gas or propane with a flick of a switch under the dash.  It ran very smoothly on propane, but I wanted more.   So, a few of years ago I had Jim Green, the Pacific NW Hot Rod Specialist build me a brand new 408 Stroker.  The 408 is basically a 351 Windsor engine block bored and stroked out to 408 cubic inches.  It has dual quads for carburetors, and a high-performance cam shaft helping the engine develop about 450 horsepower.

As I said above, practically nothing on the car is stock, and that includes the interior.  It has Chrysler 300 black leather interior seats both front and rear.  However, the front bucket seats are out of a 4 door Chrysler 300, and don’t bend forward so people can get in the back seat.  However, the seats do have an electric motor that will move the seat forward enough to get in the back.  It also has heated seats, but I never hooked up the heating wires.  Maybe someday?  I also installed a new chrome steering column that tilts up and down.

It has a Ford Mustang type center council with an automatic B&M transmission shifter.  I had an expensive high definition radio/DVD player installed in the front dash, and it has multiple options, including answering your cell phone, and a navigation system!  There are two batteries in the car, one in the engine compartment and one in the trunk.  They are both top of the line Optima Batteries.  The one in the trunk is a Deep Cell, specifically for playing the Radio and DVD player at car shows, so the engine battery won’t get drained.   There is a toggle switch on the center console that moves the batteries back and forth from the engine compartment to the trunk.  The console also has a cell phone charging USB.

The entire rear end is a brand-new Ford 9 inch with posy-traction and disc brakes, which means disc brakes all around.  The C-4 transmission has been completely reconstructed with parts to match the high-performance engine.   The rear tires are very wide 295-50-15, and the front tires are 235-60-15.  When Randy’s Ring & Pinion built my Ford 9” rear axle I specifically asked them to make sure the axle was short enough to get the extra wide 295-50-15 tires under the brand new rear quarter panels, and they fit in there very nicely.   By the way, I got both new rear quarter panels from Green Sales Company, a national parts house that deals with brand new obsolete factory Ford parts.  Actually, I got a lot of parts from them.  http://www.greensalescompany.com/index.php .

It has a new black vinyl roof the same as came from the factory, and a late model Ruby Red paint job.  The Ruby Red is on all the new Ford cars and looks very much like a candy apple red.  I have gotten several trophies in car shows and get a lot more looks than many of the old classic cars, because it is so unique, and nobody else has one.  I just lowered the price, so I’m NOT negotiable at this time.  The car has about $40,000 into it, so $20,000 is a very good price.

Thank You!
