Very nice, low mileage one-owner 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5 NA for sale. This first-generation California car was purchased new August of 1989 at Santa Cruz Motors. She's taken good care of the car and kept it garaged. It includes the original books, owner's manual and has a clean Carfax. It has traveled just 115k gently driven miles, most occurring in the first 5-6 years as a commuter between Santa Cruz and the Silicon Valley. After moving to the wine country in 1998, the car would be used for pleasure only and always garaged.
The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was factory-rated at 116 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. It starts and runs beautifully with plenty of power, shifting up and down through the gears effortlessly. The suspension was rebuilt, so the handling is tight and quick, and the brakes are fast and responsive. Being a 1st generation Miata, it has a raw "real sportscar" feel that the later cars (I personally owned the 2nd generation) did not achieve. It is quick and agile for the driver that loves to drive!
The exterior is super tidy, and the paint is smooth and shiny and shows well. The top was recently replaced and is nearly new, nicely fitted and easy to put up & down. It still wears the original factory rims and looks 100% stock with no modifications.
The inside is comfortable and clean. The seats, rugs, dash are in terrific shape, and the top window sleeve and factory boot cover are present. The car also includes the factory tonneau, which I could not stretch enough to install due to the cold weather. Photo included. An aftermarket stereo was installed in the cassette era; it works and fills a single din slot for an easy changeover to Bluetooth. It has a remarkably well-preserved interior that looks great.
