This vehicle comes with a very interesting history! The car was
originally purchased in 1969 from Mercedes-Benz of New York City by
a German doctor. A prominent New York Lawyer then purchased it from
the doctor for his wife, and they enjoyed the car for almost 30
years.
After their ownership, the car once again went through an extensive
restoration process performed by Performance Vintages Classicos in
the Dominican Republic. Engine, transmission, fuel injection pump,
fuel and brake systems, suspension, as well as all other mechanical
components have been restored or replaced utilizing original
Mercedes-Benz parts.
The vehicle has been restored through a rotisserie level process
ensuring that the car was brought to bare metal exposing any
possible rust, and more importantly, treating it to avoid future
exposure to damage. The car is finished in its original factory
DB040 black color, utilizing original Glasurit primers and
paint.
The entire remanufacturing process for this vehicle took over 3,500
man-hours of labor, and cost over $50,000 in new parts. The car has
been sorted in the United States and is in perfect operating
condition.
