The first generation Ford Thunderbird is a car that encompasses the
popular styling queues of the 1950's from bumper to bumper. This
1955 Ford Thunderbird is an excellent example of these first
generation Thunderbirds. This wonderfully presented Thunderbird has
been very well maintained and has gone through an older very
detailed restoration. The Torch Red exterior shines very well with
no rust to be found anywhere in the body. The exterior paint is in
excellent condition, as well as the exterior chrome. The exterior
of this beautiful Thunderbird is complimented nicely by its very
nice white convertible top, Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels wrapped in
Coker wide white wall tires, correct "Thunderbird" and "V8" badges
and a period correct Continental Kit. The red and white vinyl
interior is in excellent condition. The nicely optioned interior
includes power windows, power seat, factory in-dash tach, clock,
aftermarket AM/FM stereo with cassette, and telescoping steering
(currently inop). It is powered by a 292 Cu In V8 and backed by an
automatic transmission. This Thunderbird starts, runs, and drives
very well just as a first generation Thunderbird should. If you are
in the market for a first generation Thunderbird that runs and
drives as excellent as it looks, this great example is turn-key
ready for that Sunday cruise or trip to your local car show.
