Vehicle Description
Take some extra time to go over all the details of this 1964
Chevrolet Chevelle's full custom build. It has an irresistible list
of features, including slick paint, custom A/C interior, four-wheel
disc brakes, amazing suspension five-speed manual, and custom-built
632ci motor So it will already have you falling in love/lust with
this hardtop even before you turn the key and have some real
fun.
This Chevelle gives off a precision-level first impression thanks
to a long list of solid investments. In fact, we have a partial
receipt file that already shows over $25k spent between 2009 and
2015. This includes over $10k on the paint and bodywork alone. The
color is called Blue Marlin, and the nautical theme is particularly
nice in the way it shows off how the well-creased rear fenders have
an almost wave-like sporty line. The great lines and bright chrome
bumpers are part of the overall presentation that shows off the
quality design that reminds us why this first-year Chevelle would
become an icon. This build started with a real-deal Malibu SS, and
so it earns aggressive upgrades like the tall cowl hood and Budnik
wheels with an aggressive 18/19-inch front/rear stance. And even
little details like the crystal clear headlight and LED tail lights
signal there was a big investment in upgrading and updating this
Super Sport.
One look inside, and you'll see all the features you could ever
want in a thoughtfully updated classic. For example, the front
bucket seats have the deep black appearance you want from a muscle
machine, but they also plush high back units with individual
armrests. And the rear bench was done to match. There's also a
quality style to the carpets, door panels, dash, headliner, and all
the right fundamentals to make this quite inviting. You have the
right luxuries, including an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth,
Dynamat insulation, and modern R134a air conditioning. And this is
a true driver-focused machine with a sports steering, a polished
Ididit tilt steering column, a full AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauge
panel, and a Hurst floor shifter.
There is an award-worthy presentation in the engine bay. The smooth
color-matched inner walls make sure your attention is focused on
all the shine radiating from the middle. And we dare you to find
another piece of this motor that could be polished. But what you'll
really love is the substance beyond the style. It's a massive 632
cubic-inch V8. While that's about 40 percent larger than Chevrolet
would ever install in a Chevelle (even in the height of the muscle
car era,) that's only the beginning for this custom-built
powerhouse. It has go-fast goodies like aluminum heads, a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, a high-rise intake, and Lemons long tube
headers that feed the X-pipe dual exhaust. Plus, you have terrific
supporting components that include Painless wiring, an electric
fuel pump, MSD billet pro ignition, Flex-a-lite 3200 CFM fan, a
large aluminum radiator, and the battery mounted in the finished
trunk for better weight distribution. It's a great motor that makes
a powerful rumble for everyday fun, and there are electronic
cutouts that bypass the MagnaFlow mufflers any time you want to
really bring the thunder. To make sure you have full control over
this monster motor and its powerful soundtrack, there's a
five-speed manual transmission with a two-stage performance setup
by the masters at American Powertrain. As you look at the stout
components underneath, make sure to pay close attention to the
rear. There is an Art Morrison half frame that gives you a strong
base to mount the reinforced four-link rear. Add in power steering,
modern sport tires, and Wilwood four-wheel power discs brakes, and
you can see why this is great for everything from performance
driving to easy cruising.
