Vehicle Description
Upgraded V8 power, an overdrive transmission, upgraded suspension,
and a custom interior make this 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner a
terrific cruiser. And it's all wrapped around a sleek and vibrant
custom body.
This is the kind of car you keep for a while. In fact, this is
coming off of nearly two decades of ownership. It was restored once
in the early 2000s, and then over $40k was invested within the last
few years to really make sure this one continues to impress. So the
Torch Red paint has a terrific shine that loves to show off the
smoother body. The deleted trim, shaved door handles, and frenched
headlights give this classic a pure and sleek style. This car is
all about thoughtful details. The bumpers and grille are now
painted white. So when the white roof is in place, this one looks
like it has a thoughtful two-tone. With the elimination of the
other brightwork, it really brings a strong emphasis to the
full-length side trim that this artful piece deserves. Plus, the
wheels unite the full package with polished smoothies that have a
white center cap. And so, while some classics are made to cruise
all day with no destination, we can't help but think you'll be
taking this one out most weekends to find a car show.
A car like this was made for top-down enjoyment. So the interior
still gives you plenty of the bright white to coordinate with the
exterior, and now it's also joined by a tasteful gray. And the
car's thoughtful style is shown once again in the details where the
custom upholstery, door panels, and console all have contrast red
stitching to match the exterior. All the best upgrades were nicely
integrated, like modern AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth, an armrest
center console with cup holders, door poppers on the key fob, and
provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow
ideally cold again.) Front bucket seats, a sports steering wheel on
a tilt column, and a custom gauge package are all there to remind
you that the best custom classics are made for driving.
Under the hood of this classic Ford is Chevy V8 power. That's a
good thing because it means a hardy motor that loves upgrades. This
one already includes a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, HEI ignition, and an aluminum radiator. The motor
fires up eagerly with a nice tune out of the dual exhaust, and it
runs with confidence like a well-serviced machine. The 700R4
four-speed automatic transmission is a terrific upgrade that gives
you highway-friendly overdrive. You've also got an upgraded front
suspension, power brakes, front discs, and a nice set of newer BF
Goodrich T/As.
The sale comes complete with the build receipts, maintenance
records, and service manuals. This is the vintage Ford Crestline
Sunliner convertible that has been restored for true distinction.
