Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible is an absolutely stunning
showstopping Tri-Five Chevy in the right colors having underwent a
comprehensive professional frame off restoration. In 1955,
Chevrolet completely re-designed its top-of-the-line Bel Air both
inside and out. The updated style on the '55 Bel-Air was bolder
with a more square look, and kicked off the Tri-Five era for Chevy.
From the front of the car, the most notable changes were the
new-look grilles, freshly restyled bumpers, wraparound windshields,
and the famous "hooded" headlights that were carried through the
rest of the Tri-Five era cars. The interiors on the '55 Bel Airs
were plusher than more economic 150 and 210 models and the new
interior design would become an iconic characteristic as well. 1955
was also a notable year for Chevrolet since it was the first year
Chevy offered a V8 engine option on its passenger cars. This
particular show-quality example comes to us from a prominent east
coast collector out of his very large collection of vintage cars
and trucks. A freshly detailed and smooth running 265 Cubic Inch V8
engine that is paired with a single 2 barrel Rochester carburetor
that pushed out 162 horsepower in its day. The 265 V8 is hooked up
to a Powerglide Automatic Transmission so that just about anybody
can take this beauty for a spin around the block. Dual exhaust
gives this classic Chevy a nice throaty sound. With power steering,
getting in and out of tight spaces is made much easier and the
overall driving experience is much more enjoyable. The exterior on
this Bel Air Convertible has been beautifully refinished in its
original two-tone color scheme consisting of Gypsy Red and
Shoreline Beige. The chrome and brightwork are stellar on this Bel
Air! The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic shape
and goes up and down with the simple push of a button. This
Chevrolet rides on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply tires with full
wheelcovers giving the car a truly classic look. The interior on
this Bel-Air Convertible is superb! The front and rear bench seats
have been reupholstered in the correct material and color scheme
for the car, red and beige vinyl. The dash, door panels and
steering wheel all appear to be in their stock configuration and
are in wonderful condition. The dash is equipped with a 110 MPH
speedometer, temperature gauge, and gasoline gauge, as well as an
AM radio and clock. Whether you're looking for your very first
classic car or your garage is full of Tri-Fives, this 1955
Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible would be an excellent choice. Give us
