€" Period GM Pickup Truck magazine ad headline Hagerty
characterized the attractive design of these GM pickups this way:
Whether Chevrolet or GMC, the General's third-generation,
'square-body' trucks were a dramatic departure from the company's
previous efforts. The third-gen models featured squared-off front
and rear fascia, subtle body contours honed by wind-tunnel testing,
a more accommodating and ergonomic interior... a style decades
ahead of its time. Offered here is a perfectly refreshed,
time-capsule 1984 Chevrolet K10K 4WD pickup in royal blue metallic
over black. The truck has traveled just 26,801 total miles to date,
fewer than 725 miles per-year on average since new. Refreshed and
re-powered, its excellent overall condition shows how owner pride,
attention to regular servicing, proper professional refreshing, and
restrained-use mileage can result in a virtually timeless vehicle.
The exterior royal blue metallic paint was professionally applied,
and the results show: perfectly smooth finish and even, high gloss
on every surface, with no indication whatsoever of fading or other
damage. All sheet metal panels are free of dings, dents, or other
damage. The chrome trim-on the bumpers, fender wheel-opening trim,
West Coast-style mirrors, window trim-is all in excellent
condition; a chrome trim-strip has been applied to the lower body
including the cargo box. (To best assess the quality of the paint
and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the
car in the accompanying gallery.) The truck's front grille (with
bowtie emblem in all-silver) and tailgate are perfect. The cargo
area is protected with a black, anti-scrape coating. A Corvette
crossed-flags emblem graces the front fenders in reference to the
source of the truck's new power (explained further below). Lighting
lenses on the last-year single headlights and cabin glass-including
the sliding rear window-are perfectly clear and undamaged. A
moderate lift kit is installed. Factory rally-style,
painted-silver, 15-inch steel wheels with chrome trim rings (and
Warn® front locking hubs with correct rear 4x4-labeled hubs) are
mounted with BFGoodrich® All-Terrain raised-white-letter 33x10.5 LT
tires. Inside, the respectfully refreshed theme continues.
Literally every surface, every control, every aspect of the
interior fully merits that description, including the black
dashboard wearing its correct Silverado emblem. Black vinyl seat
upholstery is free of wear indications or damage. The black
Chevrolet-branded steering wheel frames the classic, square-design,
brushed-metal-trimmed GM-truck instrument cluster. Ventilation and
heating controls are slide-levers. An upgraded Kenwood® audio head
unit is mounted in the factory-radio location. Even the fluorescent
indicator needles on the instruments are largely unfaded. The
B&M® shift lever for the TH350 Turbo 350 transmission (with
manual valve body) is floor-mounted alongside the transfer-case
selector lever. Fresh black cabin-floor carpeting is installed.
Under the hood, the venerable 350-cubic-inch V8-sourced from a 1978
Indianapolis 500 Pace-car-edition Corvette with just 16,000 miles
on it-wearing its correct Chevy-orange engine-block paint commands
a spotless and well-or
