Vehicle Description
Iconic, collectible, and nearly impossibly low mileage - this 1999
Plymouth Prowler is a well-preserved and nicely-presented example
of one of the most distinctive new classics to hit the road.
You can tell this one has always been someone's baby. The low
odometer tells us that some people drive more miles on their
morning commute than this one averages in a year. So you can
imagine it only came out of the garage for the rarest of special
occasions. Collectors know this was the first year the car was
available in something besides purple, and the factory-applied
Prowler Yellow still retains its showroom level of shine. Plus, the
body panels have been treated with care, so the light rolls evenly
across all the curves - and this car has a ton of them! The slick
pointed front end, cycle fenders, slingshot profile, and
fully-rounded rear all come together to create one of the coolest
machines ever to come with a factory warranty. Mopar's designers
really got a rare opportunity at building a modern hot rod, right
down to wheels that are staggered at 17/20-inches front/rear to
draw attention to the Prowler's intimidating stance. So as this one
is only a few years away from vintage plates, you can really
imagine the desirableness of such a time capsule example.
Dark colors look great against the bright yellow. So you not only
have a great-looking black convertible top, but also beneath it is
a distinctively dark charcoal gray interior. Just like the
exterior, it has an exceptional level of care that comes from
little use. So the leather on the bucket seats feels supple and you
can clearly see the embossed in the backs. Once again, the
designers got to give this production car the right custom hot rod
touches. That's why the most distinct part of the dash is the
bright exterior-matching panel that gives a dominating presentation
to your gauges. And there's even an AutoMeter tach added to the
steering column done at the factory. But while the Prowler wants to
give the custom car vibe, what it really excels at is giving you
the level of features you can only get from a premium factory
build. That means a powerful AM/FM/cassette factory stereo w/CD
changer, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, rear defogger,
cruise control, and plenty of vents for cold-blowing air
conditioning. In fact, a factory car also means welcomed safety
features like dual airbags and anti-lock brakes.
When you lift the hood, the near spotless condition of this motor
reminds you of the respect this collectible has received. The
lightweight nature of the Prowler and an engine upgrade in 1999
means the 3.5-liter 24-valve V6's 253 horsepower moves this
roadster quite nicely. It starts instantly and idles smoothly
thanks to modern fuel injection. The four-speed automatic
transmission w/overdrive and power steering make this a fine
anytime cruiser. When you want a little more fun, the AutoStick has
a manual mode that will really open up the backroads. So it will be
hard to resist adding to the low odometer. After all, the fully
independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and the Prowler's
near 50/50 weight distribution makes for an impressive driver.
This is such a great time capsule that offers everything you wanted
in Prowler when new, and today this modern classic is still that
fresh. So don't miss out, call today!
