Vehicle Description
Price dropped $2,900! The Sunbeam Alpine was a British sports car
produced by the Rootes Group from 1953-1955, and from 1959-1968.
This is a 1967 Series V GT (detachable hard top) that produced 100
horsepower from the factory. The Alpine Series V became the Sunbeam
Tiger, co-designed by Carrol Shelby (of AC Cobra fame), with the
use of a Chrysler, then Ford 4.3L V8. Although twice as powerful as
the Alpine, the Tiger was only about 20% heavier. This particular
Alpine was substantially customized by its talented builder who has
built and sold over 100 cars, including Austin-Healeys modified
with American V8 engines. For this car he used a highly modified
215-220 horsepower Chevy 4.3L V6. It sports a high-rise Edelbrock
intake manifold (necessitating the large hood scoop). A late-model
GM chassis was adapted to fit the body. The undercarriage is
absolutely spotless; there is less than 200 miles on this car since
it was completed. The car is equipped with: new high-performance
tires/wheels, tuned dual exhaust, electric fan with aluminum
radiator, 10-bolt GM Positraction rear-end, 3-speed GM automatic
transmission, front disc brakes with drums in the rear, and iconic
1954 Chevy tail lights. It needs an emergency brake installed, the
tachometer is not currently working, and it needs a new head liner
for the hard top. There is no soft top. This car drives and sounds
like the high-performance sports car it is, with 100% GM drivetrain
and chassis. We offer this rocket at $17,000. The car is garaged in
