Vehicle Description
1935 Ford Model 68 2 Dr Sedan
To follow up the success of previous years, Ford introduced the
Model 48 and Model 68 in 1935. These cars were a major refresh on
the overall look and introduced more integrated fenders and a more
upright grill. They proved they had a hit on their hands as the
price and looks of the 35 propelled Ford sales past their rival
Chevrolet and they took the crown for most sales in 1935. The very
clean '35 Ford you see here has a great look and combines those
original stylings with some street rod touches to create a great
driver as well. The front and rear fenders are fiberglass with the
rest of the body being all original steel. The build was completed
2 years ago and only has 250 miles on it since it was finished. The
body is solid with no issues and is painted in a nice Toyota
Speedway Blue color that really pops out in the sun. It has also
been ceramic coated making it super easy to clean. The 4 piece hood
wears its original style trim and all of the chrome/stainless
throughout is new and in great condition. It has 32 Ford front and
rear bumpers which suit the car nicely. The original chrome
headlights and taillights are in place with some aftermarket turn
signals mounted on the bumper. It has nice tinted glass and the
front windshield does still pop out like they did originally. The
car has a nice stance and rides on a set of 15 inch Weld Racing
Wheels.
Open up the hood and you will see this beauty is now powered down
the road by a 350 V8 260HP GM crate motor. The motor was new when
the car was built so it only has 250 miles on it. At that same time
the 700R4 was rebuilt and received a TCI shift kit. Under the hood
the car has a great look with a nicely painted to match firewall
and a lot of chrome/billet accents. It is kept running nice and
cool with a 4 core Walker radiator and 17 inch electric fan with
adjustable control. Other features include the Sanden AC
compressor, chrome alternator, Edelbrock Performer intake, 4 barrel
Edelbrock carburetor, HEI distributor, and MSD Street Fire plug
wires. In back the car has a 9 inch Ford posi rear end with 3:50
gears and it only has 100 miles on it. So not only does it have a
fresh look but the whole drivetrain is fresh as well. It has been
upgraded with power steering and power brakes with discs up front.
During the build the car received a completely new wiring harness,
all new brakes lines/hoses and a new fuel tank with new fuel lines.
Under the front, the car now sits on a Fatman Mustang II style
independent front suspension and rides down the road very well.
The interior of the car was all redone in Black vinyl and it has
dual bucket seats up front. It has a bench seat in back which folds
forward and is where you will find some extra storage space and the
relocated battery. All of the seats have your standard 3 point
shoulder belts for extra safety. Between the seats runs a custom
center console with cupholders, a Lokar emergency brake and the
Lokar floor shifter. The brake and gas pedal are also from Lokar.
The dash of the car is painted to match the body and features white
face VDO gauges and Vintage AC controls with inset adjustable
vents. The Vintage AC system will also heat and defrost. In front
of the driver sits a nice chrome title column topped off with a
wood banjo steering wheel.
This car has a great look and being so fresh has a long life left
in it. It will make someone a great classic especially if you enjoy
driving while showing it off.
