Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is a real-deal 138-code Super
Sport that has the numbers-matching 396 V8 under the hood. It even
appears that the attractive paint is the factory application! So
while many of us just love a big block muscle machine with
four-on-the-floor, this one has a true lineage to showcase,
too.
You see how great this coupe's code-Y Butternut Yellow looks in the
pictures, and so you can imagine just how amazing it is to have it
looking like this over a half-century since leaving the Kansas City
factory. Oh yes, we're told it's original, and when you get a good
look at this, it's hard to believe it's anything but that. There
are minimal touch-ups and a good shine. Being around to see ten
U.S. presidents take office - and look good - takes a meticulous
level of care. And this Super Sport lets the full-length pinstripe
show off the super-straight body panels that reaffirm this coupe's
respected life. But beyond just a terrific surviving example, this
is desirable for being a true SS muscle machine. It commands
respect with the authoritatively wide chrome bumpers, SS vented
hood trim, ribbed rockers, 15-inch rally wheels, and a nice dark
style on the grille and rear panel. So it's a terrific icon with a
story to tell.
The hints of black on the exterior give you a preview of the full
black interior. It's part of this car's factory-correct color
combo. They did give this a more recent resonation, and so now it
strikes the right balance of a period-correct look with a fresh
feeling to make it more comfortable. The deep black on the seats,
doors panels, carpets, headliner, and dash all make this quite
inviting. It has all the right details, from the three-spoke SS
steering wheel to the working dome light. And there's even an
upgraded AM/FM radio for the right upgraded driving music.
This car is a true 138-code SS 396. So when you open the engine
bay, this Chevelle is filled with big block power. The
numbers-matching 396 cubic-inch V8 has a terrific presentation with
the smooth inner walls, tidy motor, GM hoses, newer booster, bright
valve covers, and air grabber with callouts. As you look a little
closer, you can even see a few well-placed upgrades, like the newer
four-barrel carburetor and a Weiand intake. A driver is what this
one was really meant to be. After all, the four-speed manual
transmission gives you full control over the big block power and
its rumbling soundtrack. And features like power steering, power
brakes, and front discs are there to let you show off this hardtop
legend.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a true Super Sport with some
serious pedigree. So if you love a great icon, you can't let this
slip away. Call now!
