Vehicle Description
This is an all together, but somewhat untidy exterior, Silver
Wraith II ("LWB") finished in 2-tone Silver Sand over Walnut (both
metallics) with chocolate Connolly hide leather contrasted by cream
seat piping accents and floor rugs. The Silver Wraith II is the
long wheel base version of the Silver Shadow II. Easily identified
by the smaller rear window (opera window), it is 4" longer in the
rear door. This provides a noticeable increase in rear passenger
space. This is the 6.75 litre V8 developed and built by
Rolls-Royce. This is a low-mileage example that would have been a
very nice car but for the fact it was poorly stored for a good
amount of years so the paint has suffered accordingly. The main
interior of the car, however, is in exemplary condition for its age
and I will cover below. The paint is predominantly original,
showing fade, buff-through, discolouration and small nicks and
bumps. The body is rather straight however, with no signs of
accident damage and only very minor rust spots in a couple of
unseen corners. This makes the car a perfect example for a quality
repaint - which it needs. From a distance it does present shiny
as-is and if you wanted just a "decent driver", you could get away
with perhaps repainting the top-half Silver Sand colour only,
however we believe the car is more deserving than this. The
underside is surprisingly clean and rust free. All long wheel base
cars came with an Everflex vinyl top as standard fitment. This one
has had it removed and the roof repainted. Some like this look but
we believe a replacement Everflex top in beige or brown is what
should be done. The bright-work to include chrome and stainless
steel are all in fine condition and present nicely. There are no
issues with the grill, mascot and all the hubcaps are in good
shape. The interior is quite a different story. It is actually
rather excellent compared to the exterior. The leather is all 100%
original Rolls-Royce Connolly hide and in amazingly wonderful
condition that remains soft and supple without any cracks or tears.
It has never been redyed and looks gorgeous. The floor carpets are
also in top condition. Being the light beige colour, you might
expect them to be all grubbied up but they are not. The driver side
carpet was replaced for some reason but all the remaining is
excellent. The boot carpet in the same beige with chocolate leather
piping is amazingly good condition as well! The broad cloth
headliner is in excellent condition without tears, wear or any
unsightly stains. The burl walnut wood on the dash is showing
imperfections with the door wood clear-coat peeling most notably on
the 2 front doors. The rear doors are of acceptable driver quality
as is the dash. Whereas it always recommended one finishes all the
wood, you might get away with just refinishing the front door
cappings only. The rear parcel shelf is in poor condition with the
fabric sun-rotted. The interior is all original right down to the
Blaupunkt push-button radio and Pioneer 8-track system. All
operational features will need to be gone through and serviced;
electric windows, seats, AC, heater, central locking etc.
Mechanically, she will need a bunch of work having sat for so long
without maintenance. This is simply the "nature of the beast" with
any service neglected Rolls-Royce motorcar. We have not reviewed
her in detail other than added new gas and fire her up. She does
start, idles, runs, drives and stops ..... but only within our
car-park. Tyres have decent tread but are all old and in need of
replacement. It appears someone has done some brake work but really
only to the point to give her some stopping power. All of this MUST
be gone through given she has sat without proper maintenance for so
long. Please be clear of this. For those budget minded buyers,
please; .... do not think as soon as you receive her, you can drive
your loved one out to dinner in her. She will only start and stop
for trailer loading and unloa
