As most can imagine, the Mini came about because of a fuel shortage
in 1956. It was being rationed in the UK, so BMC designed the space
saving, transverse engine, front-wheel drive layout. It allowed 80%
of the floor plan to be occupied by passengers and luggage. It even
can occupy two 6'10 driver and front passenger. Introduced in 1959
and built through the 2000 it is one of the most iconic car designs
of all time, ranking up there with the Model T and VW Beetle.
This particular Mini Mark IV is nothing short of spectacular. The
1979 offered here has the MTB2 engine package with a Honda B16 DOHC
VTEC with a 5 speed manual transmission. There are over $20,000 in
receipts for the build of this awesome pocket racer. Other
highlights include B2 aluminum radiator kit, new subrame with
A-arms and complete new axles, B series chipped ECU, air
conditioning, Superbrake Kit, 150/49OR12 Yokohama tires on Mamba
wheels, Momo steering wheel. The Mini runs and handles very well
and is sure to put a smile on your face.
