1951 Ford F-100 Resto-Mod
Car History
The second generation of the Ford F-Series is a series of trucks
that was produced by Ford from the 1953 to 1956 model years. In
line with the previous generation, the F-Series encompassed a wide
range of vehicles, ranging from light-duty pickup trucks to
heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
This 1955 Ford F100 we have here at Adventure Classics is a hot rod
truck that still has original good looks with a cool stance,
upgraded suspension, V8 power, custom wheels and tires, and air
conditioning to make it a street-ready classic.
Engine & Drivetrain
When you pop the hood you know you are seeing a transplant of a
modified more modern engine. It does not have the original Ford
powerplant but a much more powerful 302 cubic-inch Ford V8.
It has a polished look to it with custom finned aluminum valve
covers, aluminum intake, Edelbrock four-barrel carb, tube headers,
performance spark plug wires and distributor, power steering, power
brakes, and all sitting in a pretty, painted, detailed, and very
clean engine compartment.
It is backed by an automatic transmission for optimal performance
and driving experience and H.D. rear end in a painted and
pin-striped modified custom-built chassis with coil-overs and disc
brakes to boot.
Add in fat black wall BF Goodrich performance tires on classy
5-spoke custom mag wheels and you have a powerful package that
gives you a mix of vintage and performance.
Interior
Ours has a great carmel colored split bench seat interior as well
as door panels that have been custom made to match, and the
headliner looks excellent. So it is quite a comfy total setup but
it too has been upgraded with a cool blue body colored painted dash
housing the performance white-face gauges, chrome billet steering
wheel column with the tan steering wheel, tan carpet, radio, and
controls for all the systems including the air conditioning and
heat.
Exterior
Our second-gen 1955 Ford F-100 truck has a true vintage style that
is always fashionable. The dark blue paint looks great on the hood,
rounded cab, and rolled step-side fenders are all part of this
timeless classic appearance.
There is even a real wood panel section in the truck bed floor in
vintage style with the look and raked stance giving it just the
right street looks and appeal.
