This 1951 Ford Custom Deluxe Convertible does a terrific job of
being a period-correct classic. But it also has the right added
power and drivability that make sure this vintage drop-top remains
a cool cruiser today.
This Ford gets it right. After all, a convertible always looks
terrific in a high-gloss black. You can tell there was a solid
investment in a modern application here just by the piano-like
presentation that loves the sunshine. Like any good 1950s car,
there's plenty of chrome on the bumpers and the highly stylized
grille. And the dual bullet-nose grille is a terrific-looking piece
only on the '51. Whitewalls, fender skirts, and complete Deluxe
trim sweeping down the profile and warping around the rear make us
instantly nostalgic. Plus, details like the blue-dot taillights and
dual exhaust tips let you know there's a touch more custom cruiser
to this one.
The tan convertible top has the kind of timeless appeal that adds
to the premium look of this classic. So you'll be glad that when
you power it down, there's a detailed tan interior. It carries
quite a clean and fresh style while still feeling quite authentic.
So you'll love grabbing the stylized Ford steering wheel and
looking out over the dash with the large art deco speedometer.
There are even cool details like the working Magic Air heater and
AM radio. As vintage as this is, you can also feel the subtle
reassurance of quality investments. And the upgrade to a comfy
tweed cloth on the seats is going to be something you'll welcome on
any sunny day with the top down. And the auxiliary gauge package
cleanly mounted under the dash lets you keep a better eye on what's
going on under the hood.
Under the hood is a clean and tidy way to showcase Ford's famous
flathead V8. This 239 unit has the look of good care and plenty of
upgrades. It includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock
cylinder heads. This one is built to be a better all-around driver,
and you see that in features like the alternator (polished),
electric choke, and an aluminum radiator. The V8 fires up eagerly,
runs smoothly, and the glasspack-style dual exhaust makes a nice
tone. Plus, you are in complete control of it all thanks to the
column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
The sale comes complete with maintenance records, service many, and
many stock components. Here's a drop-top classic that has been
given the right investments to be a better driver and a real
head-turner that's ready for you right now. But the only way to get
in your garage tomorrow is if you call today!
