Vehicle Description
This 1971 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne Super is a terrific vintage pickup
with just the right updates to keep it a terrific cruiser. It's
that ideal mix of two-tone nostalgia and hardy V8 power that makes
for the kind of classic that will make you drive past the car show
just because you're enjoying yourself too much behind the
wheel.
A color like Dark Olive Green represents the 1970s perfectly. The
only way it could get any more vintage is by making it part of a
two-tone in a timeless white. The trim tag tells us it's the
factory-correct color combo, but it has the luster and shine that
lets you know this was part of a professional respray done within
about the last five years. And the restoration had an eye for
details. That's why there are mirror-like chrome bumpers, clean
lines, and the Cheyenne Super's unique wood-like inserts in the
full-length trim. There have been some more modern upgrades along
the way, and they seem to be just as much about function as they
are style. For example, the liner paint in the bed and thick rubber
bed mat look good, and it also means this looker can help with the
chores if you want. Plus, the 20-inch US Mags wheels give this a
sporty stance, and at the same time, allow you to fit better modern
tires.
The classic style continues inside with more of the attractive
green. There have been updates to pieces like the carpeting, dash
pad, and other fundamentals, but it all stays correctly vintage.
Even the little things there, like the working horn and dome light.
And the premium Cheyenne Super means nice classic details,
including the wood-like trim and western-style pattern embossed in
both the seat and doors. But this also likes to be a cruiser for
modern times, and so there are nice driving upgrades like the
AM/FM/CD stereo, upgraded speakers, and provisions for air
conditioning (it's running modern R134a but the blower needs
servicing.) And you just know you'll get the right old-school
tingle the moment you grab the vintage steering wheel and gaze at
the crisp gauge package.
Under the hood is a tidy small block that's made to look quite
stock. But if you dig a little deeper, you'll discover that this is
a younger 350 cubic-inch crate motor and it's topped with an
Edelbrock AVS2 four-barrel carburetor. It makes for a hardy heart
and proper V8 power. And overall, you can see a solid investment in
maintenance, right down to supporting components, like the newer
alternator and brake booster. This generation C10 makes for a great
cruiser thanks to the trailing arm rear suspension, and the
suspension has even been refreshed recently to continue feeling its
best on the road. This appeal is furthered by a three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering power brakes, front discs
(with fresh-looking calipers and rotors), and grippy sport
tires.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card and owner's
manual. This is the classic C10 that wants to be enjoyed to the
fullest. So if you love hitting the road and turning heads, you
