For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

What do you see when you dial up our website and check out this polished Mustang? One of the coolest muscle cars ever produced? One of the most in-demand classic cars on the market? An outrageous pro-tourer that doubles as an athlete and a show queen? All the above? First-generation Mustangs are some of the most popular classics on the planet, and the comfort and ability provided by the pro-touring movement really puts the icing on the cake. Wrapping custom steel skin around Detroit Speed bones and a supercharged Coyote heart, this national award-winning pony is both legendary and exceptional!

STEEL SOPHISTICATE

A slick '60s bombshell that features a stylish, all-steel body, this national award winning Mustang is the product of a detailed, ground-up build that included a sizeable budget and literal months of skilled labor. After being fully reimagined, the car was bathed in custom PAINTHOUSE Burgundy two-stage that rang up to $2,000 per gallon. That glimmering pigment was dressed in a neutral top stripe and vivid outlining stripes. And today, this Ford rolls as one head-turning thoroughbred that, in addition to being featured on Goodguys' 2021 t-shirt, won Goodguys Muscle Machine of the Year at the 2020 Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals!

The car's timeless body kicks off with a custom, all-steel valance that centers color-keyed mesh behind modern driving lamps, dual-mode Maxtel headlights and factory grille trim. A custom hood, clearanced for the supercharged Coyote, flows to a filled cowl that's garnished with polished wipers. Those blades clear a fresh, stainless-trimmed windshield that's tilted between a tinted greenhouse, shaved drip rails and custom pillar vents. A retro, bullet-style mirror reflects a simple profile that's devoid of everything but modern door handles and massaged quarter scoops. Speaking of massaged quarters, custom, all-steel extensions join a custom steel decklid to shade flush LED taillights and a billet fuel filler. And a tucked and smoothed bumper rides tight over a second custom, all-steel valance.

WHIPPLE FIVE-OH

Hoist the steel bonnet and you'll find five liters of Ford Performance Coyote crate motor that's been thoughtfully supplemented with 2.9 liters of rowdy Whipple supercharger. Combining smooth revs with seemingly limitless torque, that exclusive powerplant takes this handsome Ford from inspired conversation starter to inspirational action hero! Front-and-center, a muted blower, complete with a painted intake tube cover for show dress, makes excellent use of fender-mount cold air induction. A Whipple 3.750 pulley aids power delivery. A big C&R Racing radiator keeps everything cool with the help of dual SPAL puller fans. Exhaust gets jettisoned by a slick pair of stainless Ultimate headers. Custom cam covers join Whipple fuel rails and billet fluid reservoirs to dress things up. And the modern mill looks right at home between custom fenders, a smoothed firewall, a custom closeout and trick Ringbrothers hood supports.

PUTTING THE PRO IN PRO-TOURER

Behind this Ford's buttery powerplant, a tough Tremec 6-speed hangs a requisite scatter shield in front of a fabricated 9-inch axle. That versatile drivetrain rolls on a quality Detroit Speed QUADRALink rear-clip that's built with a thick torsion bar, tubular control arms and JRi coil-over-shocks. That clip pushes a predictable Detroit Speed Aluma-Frame front-half, which centers power rack-and-pinion steering between a second torsion bar, more tubular control arms and more JRi coil-overs. At the corners of those bones, drilled and slotted rotors thread 6-piston Wilwood calipers. Lined and color-keyed floors shade coated, large-diameter pipes, which center an H-shaped crossover in front of big MagnaFlow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through polished Schott Venoms, which spin 255/35ZR18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports in front of 345/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports. And all that choice kit is spiced with first class details like a stainless Rick's fuel tank and requisite Detroit Speed mini tubs.

STRUCTURED CUSTOMIZATION

Swing the doors and you'll find an impressive custom cockpit that's stitched like a finely tailored suit. Comfortable leather buckets, cribbed from a 2012 Mustang GT, boast convenient power adjustment for both the car's driver and passenger. A leather-wrapped dash hangs attractive satin trim around crisp Dakota Digital telemetry and cool Vintage Air conditioning. Plush, color-keyed carpet floats a custom console amid billet door handles, metal foot pedals and a short American Powertrain shifter. Ornate side panels front quick power windows and modern power door locks. The driver spins a billet, flat-bottom steering wheel around a modern, tilting column. The passengers enjoy remote-controlled, Bluetooth-capable Soundstream Technologies audio. And the car's custom-upholstered hatch artfully conceals a relocated battery.

When it comes to maximizing the amount of metal your money buys, you simply can't go wrong with a purpose-built pro-tourer. Thanks to exceptional attention to detail, this legendary Ford is a world class award winner that's impressive, exclusive and, most importantly, fun! Looking for an awesome classic that commands respect both on the boulevard and at the show field? This red-hot Mustang is just your style!
