Vehicle Description
This 1999 Ford Crown Victoria P71 is a taxi on the outside, a
police car on the inside, and a proper V8 machine under the hood.
So this is a great way to bring a bit of added fun to an affordable
modern classic.
The story we're told on this one is quite interesting. It was
originally a police car that was disguised as a taxi for undercover
work. We don't have full confirmation on the story, but the VIN is
in-line with this idea. And today, the taxi decals (decals) even
give the phone number of a northeast police department. The yellow
paint is ideal for a taxi. Not only is it the distinct color we all
know, but it has the aged look of a real taxi.
So This seems like a great vehicle for renting out to movie
studios. Then again, with the overall low mileage, it also has the
potential for everything from a daily driver to a real and useful
taxicab.
The interior reminds you of a true worker Crown Vic. While this was
said to be more of an undercover car in its first use, today it has
the taxi kind of details, like the easy-clean vinyl rear seat,
easy-clean floor, full rear seat divider with plexiglass slider,
and even the taxi light on the roof lights up. And the front has
more of the useful style while also being surprisingly luxurious.
For example, you have a set of wide bucket seats done in a comfy
cloth. Plus, you have features like power windows, power locks,
tinted windows, an electric rear defogger, dual airbags, a tilt
steering column, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and cold-blowing air
conditioning.
Under the hood is Ford's 4.6-liter modular V8. Yes, this is the
fuel-injected unit that's directly related to the one you love in
the Mustang. So not only does it provide plenty of power from
stock, but also you can easily add upgrades to this hardy motor if
you so desire. It fires up nicely and runs smooth, just like you
want an FI machine to be. And the four-speed automatic transmission
gives you overdrive comfort. Features like power steering, sway
bars front & rear, and four-wheel power disc brakes make this
ex-police car great for a hot pursuit... but really, it also makes
just a nice all-around driving sedan.
This is a well-done taxi/police car. It's priced right for you to
have some fun and maybe even make a return on your investment. Call
