1979 Jeep CJ5 (VIN #: J9F83EH011908)
If fast and loud is your thing, this jeep is for you - This is an original steel body survivor that was purchased from a classic car dealer in 2013 with stock 304 V8 motor and T150 3-speed manual transmission. Since purchase the jeep has undergone extensive mechanical upgrades, which include replacement of the stock 304 motor with a fuel-injected chevy small-block V8 (4.8L LQ4), custom built headers and exhaust system, re-wiring with new electrical harness, replacement of the wheel bearings, new brake hoses and master cylinder, and re-built transfer case, front/rear differentials. All work professionally done by local auto shops.
Current LS engine purchased with approximately 35K miles on it (came out of light duty chevy truck totaled following rear-end collision); and since being installed in 2016 has had an additional 3k in neighborhood miles that have been put on it on weekends.
Other additions to the jeep include locking center console, detachable doors, removable soft top, rear bench seat w/ added seatbelts, 10x50 aluminum wheels, and 33x10x50 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires that have approximately 4K miles on them. Soft top and doors were put on and used for about 3-months right after the jeep was purchased but were removed and carefully stored ever since.
Clear title, most recent state inspection performed February of this year.
Over $40k invested in upgrades to-date, and primary reason for selling is to allow for purchase of a larger “fun” vehicle to accommodate growing family.
