1956 Pontiac Safari Wagon. The odometer reads 23901 but the title states exempt so can not confirm mileage. It comes with many spare small parts. The exterior shows like it is all original patina. The interior does need some work. It has a 316.6 V8 engine with an automatic transmission, Power steering, Power Brakes, AM radio with a FM converter, and it is an A/C car but the A/C is not complete. The speedometer was rebuilt, the ignition system has been upgraded to electronic (Petronix), the wipers were upgraded to electric, the carburetor has been recently rebuilt, and the gas tank has been flushed, an electrical fuel pump has been installed, New shocks all the way around, an aftermarket transmission cooler, new exhaust with Smithy's mufflers, and aftermarket cruise control. It comes with a lot of shop manuals and the original purchase contract. This vehicle was set up to drive. The rear hatch hinges could use some work and the hatch is very difficult to close. The steering box leaks more when on jack stands. The family is asking $29,500.00 OBO. We are told only 4,042 of these cars were produced in a three span from 1955-1957. This car was purchased by the family in 1983 out of Oklahoma. This is a great driver that made the trip from central Wisconsin to Minneapolis the past several years for back to the fifties.
